a floating tool window that pastes text to focused EditBox

I'm looking for ideas how to implement a tool window with several
buttons which, once clicked, should paste certain character in to the
active EditBox in an other window of my application. The problem is to
know which EditBox was focused before the focus went to the tool
window, and then paste the character to the EditBox, but one apparent
solution (logging all Windows events) is too time consuming.

I know I've seen this issue described before, but I can't find it, or the solution now that I need it. I have some css-specified floating divs that contain images or text. The text divs have a background color and text color that differ from the rest of the page, and I'd like them to be positioned from the right edge of the rightmost image...

I just finished developing a javascipt component allowing floating captions to appear over HTML elements. If anyone wants to check it out you can see specs and download it from http://boxover.swazz.org. There is a demo there as well.

Hi can anyone point me to some sample source code for a scrolling window. What I want is a text window that monitors incoming data continuously, so it has to hold say a couple of hundred lines then after that the early lines need to erase as new data arrives. The only way I have seen this done is by copying to a buffer, deleting the first...

Hi to all, is there a way to get the window handle of the main window of an application or process ? For example, if someone opens Microsoft Word, he gets a window so he/she can write text. Spy++ gives that this window is called _Wwg. How we can get a handle to this window assuming that we do not know beforehand the name of the process,

I know how to use rand() to generate random POSITIVE-INTEGER numbers. But, I'd like to generate a random DOUBLE number in the range of 0.0 to 1.0 with resolution of a double (i.e., every possible double value in the range could come up with equal probability). I'd also like to be able to seed this generator (e.g., via the clock) so that the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
