Hi,
Does anyone know how to get the icons for all filetypes
installed on the system?
I can extract the associated icon from a file, but I don't
know how to: 1) Get a list of filetypes; 2) Get the
associated icon for those filetypes.
Thanks for any help,

Hopefully someone can catch what im missing here. Ive googled this and I think
Ive got the filetypes arg written properly, but I get a traceback when calling
this function.
Heres the code followed by its traceback.
def do_ask_fn_1():
z = askopenfilename(title=TITLE, initialdir=Dst_Dir,
filetypes=(('AIFF Files','*.aiff'),

I have a web site where the user is able to download a file. I can't use an
anchor tag because I don't want the user to see where the filename is coming
from. Below is the code in which the user clicks to get the file. I could
swear this used to work but it definitely doesn't now. Each time at the
Response.End() method, I get a System.Threading.ThreadAbortException. I'm
not really sure why it is happening. Any clues?

Hi,
I have a ASP.NET aspx file that needs to pass large images from a network
storage to client browser. The requirement is that users cannot have access
to the network share. The aspx file must be the only method that users
receive image files.

Hi all, is there a better way to stream binary data stored in a table in sql
2005 to a browser in .net 2.0? Or is the code same as in .net 1.1? We
noticed that in certain heavy load scenarios, every now and then the client
would timeout and have to re-initiate the request...
TIA!

Hi All,
I’m trying to stream a PDF with .NET 2.0 in a c# web app. However, it does
not actually show the PDF (using adobe acrobat).
The Situation:
Click on a Button, Opens a new Window, which generates a PDF, then streams
it out to the client. (So the can get the window of acrobate, isnide of IE).

I am trying to set up an Image authorization where you type in the value
that is in a picture to log on to our site.
I found a program that is supposed to do it, but it doesn't seem to work.
It should put a blue and yellow box on the page with "This is a test" as
part of the picture. But what I get is a broken Gif.
The other problem is that I can't view the source???? The view source is
disabled for this page. What causes this?

I have an aspx page that is sending pdf files to client browsers: it uses a filestream to read the pdf file and
response.binarywrite to send content to the browser. This has worked great for years in IE, Firefox and Opera on
windows, and it works on a Mac with Firefox and Opera. But this fails in Safari with the generic message "A network
error occurred while accessing this document".
Here is a link to try out ...

hi,
Lemme give u a little background on my problem. Ive created a client and server applications that receive and stream live time values. The client software is a clock that receives the time and displays it in a wpf app. Now when i use the DateTime.Now on the client app locally without using streaming the clock works great. However when I stream it from a server app which is also running on my computer or on a remote computer there is...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
