Accessing Ignored Class Properties during ItemDataBound

TB
(re-wording a previous post.. this makes much more sense, sorry for any
duplication)

First off, I've got three classes:

Class MyItem
Public PropertyOne As String
Public PropertyTwo As String
Public PropertyThree As String
Public ItemError As MyItemError
End Class

Class MyItemError
Public ID As Int32
Public Description As String
End Class

Class MyItemCollectio n
Inherits ArrayList
End Class

I'm populating a MyItemCollectio n with several instances of the MyItem
class, and then binding MyItemCollectio n to a data grid. I'm creating
templated columns and only displaying PropertyOne and PropertyTwo from each
MyItem.

Is it possible to access the other properties of this class (i.e.
PropertyThree or ItemError.ID) from within the ItemDataBound event of the
DataGrid??

TIA - TB

I did a working code with CDONTS on NT4 Now I am testing is on w2k and it looks like objCDONTS.Send is completely ignored. I think is it ignored because it throws no errors, neither does the rest of the code setting objCDONTS=Server.CreateObject("CDONTS.NewMail") and then manipulating its properties. Do I need to somehow set IIS5 to make objCDONTS.Send work?

I'm currently trying to add an ASP hyperlink to a template column in a datagrid. The normal hyperlink column doesn't give me the ability to add attributes to the item. In my grid there are four columns. Three are databound to a dataset and one is a template column. I need to be able to access each item in the template column (getting access to the hyperlink) then adding an attribute to call some client side code. Does anyone know...

Fairly new to ASP.NET 1.1. Getting the error below when running application on a web server outside of my control, but only the first time I run it: 1. After a long period of inactivity (or updating the code-behind dll) accessing any aspx page in the application causes the application to run for the first time. Some of the initialization involves reading and writing some text and xml files using simple streamreader and streamwriter...

I want to access the DataRow used in DataBinding from the ItemDataBound event. In my case, the reason for doing this is to determine whether I need to make a word singular or plural. How can I do this? Thanks. -- Nathan Sokalski njsokalski@hotmail.com http://www.nathansokalski.com/

I have been wondering this for a while now. Suppose I have a class that contains some private member variables. How should I access the variables throughout the class? Should I use properties that expose the variables or is it OK to just access the variables directly? Keep in mind that I am talking about accessing the variables from within the class that they are defined. Thanks!

The Scenario is like Car->Engine, where Car is a class with a set of properties and methods and Engine is another class inside it with its own set of properties. I am trying to access the DataItem of other DataListItems in a DataList of mine from within the ItemDataBound. The code I am currently using is: CStr(CType(Me.datMain.Items(e.Item.ItemIndex - 1).DataItem, DataRowView).Row("id")) However, this gives me an error stating that the object cannot be found. What am I doing wrong? Thanks. -- Nathan Sokalski

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
