Can you tell me if it is possible to use the PropertyGrid
control in a SmartClient deployed through IE, without
modifying the security policy.
The error I get is
System.Security.SecurityException: Request Failed.
This is the first control that I have had problems with
using the Forms components.

Hi:
I got a very strange problem while using my dotNet SmartClient exe in IE.
(One Click Deployment.)
What we did are
1) a C# dotNet exe, very small, just for testing. around 492K.
2) put the exe under IIS application folder
3) make the server URL full trust on client IE.
4) Make a html page which contain the URL above.
While client the url in IE, sometime it work but sometime doesn't.

I have a WinForms based application that I'm launching over http
(Microsoft's buzz word for this is aparently "SmartClient"). I had an
issue trying to get parameters passed in through the URL that I
thought I had solved. For example, let's say I wanted to do this:
http://myserver/appdir/mywinformapp.exe?username=joe&age=12
Providing code access security permissions allow it, mywinformapp.exe
is downloaded to the client and launches...

I have a WinForms application that I'm trying to deploy as a
"SmartClient" (where .exe downloads and auto launches from IE using
..NET IEExec process).
Part of my criteria for the app is to be able to get to pass
parameters into it. I found a way to do this though the
Environment.GetCommandLineArgs(); method call and passing in
attributes just as I would with an ASP or ASP.NET page (e.g.

Good morning,
Hope someone out there can help.
I have 5 PCs that hit my intranet server. All 5 will run the smartclient
from the webpage.
One of the PCs does not seem to be reading the apps config file.
This is where I have a number of keys with SQL CMDs as the values.
It gives no errors but the result is always a empty string.
3 of the other PCs have the .Net Dev IDE installed on them. The 4th not sure
if the IDE is on it or not.

Obviously a newbie question but:
Is a .Net app automatically a "SmartClient" app? If I build a frontend
in VB.Net or C+.Net and use a SQL Server backend (assuming some sort of
ADO.NET involved) is that what MS refers to as a "SmartClient" app?

Greetings, I have an aspx page where on it is a link that calls my
smartclient (a windows form) that opens up. When the user is done in
the form, he or she hits a button that saves data and closes the
form. I want the smartclient to call the opened browser (IE6 and
maybe 7 down the line) and refresh the aspx page. The page contains a

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
