Hello,
I am trying to find a way to create a scheduled task or
service that will copy my local profile folders
under "Documents and settings" to a network drive. This
would allow me to restore my settings if my profile became
tampered with or corrupt. Is there any sample code
available out there?

Hello,
Im grabbing tables via VB code using visual foxpro ODBC drives.
The tables directory is in a mapped network drive. The code works fine
and does the job, however if the computer is idle for a while the
network drive apears to have a red X on the icon and the drive becomes
disconnected. this seems to effect the VB code from grabbing the
tables. I get an error saying the specific table cannot be found. If i
manually open the mapped...

Hi All,
I am trying to access a mapped network drive from a service that I have
created.
The service needs to create/delete folders/files on a network drive. When I
tried to connect to a folder on mapped network drive (eg. N:\Storage that
corresponds to \\FS1NS\SharedDir\), I get an error as "Could not find part
of path N:\".

Hello,
I am mapping to a network share from a .Net service to transfer some
specified directories and some times before I disconnect the drive, network
would become unavailable. I am unable to disconnect this drive manually and
am getting an error "Network connection not found" and I should restart the
machine to disconnect it, but I am able to browse through the drive. I am
using my domain account only as logon for the service.
Does...

Used VB.NET (on my client PC) to convert VB6 executable
to .NET executable. Placed the .exe file on a network drive
on my server. From client, ran .NET Wizards "Trust an
Assembly" to make the .exe (on the network drive, on the
server) "Full Trust." From the client, double-click on the
..exe (on the network drive, on the server) and it runs fine.
So far, so good, but...

Hi
I was wondering if someone can please enlighten me as to the best and most
approved way to connect and disconnect network drives in vb.net.
I have been using Mpr.dll API calls such as WNetCancelConnection2 and
WNetAddConnection2, but these seem to be very flakey with drive
disconnection (The drive conenction seems to be pretty good).
I would have through that Microsocft would have provided a simple class you

Dear all,
I need to map a network drive at run-time then disconnect it after use. The
only way I know and I am using is creating a Process to call the shell
command 'net use'. It has no problem in connecting, but however, I failed to
remove the connection after use by calling the 'net use /delete' when the
user is opening a explorer and connected to the drive.
Can anyone tell me how to FORCE to disconnect a network drive? Or tell me...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
