Hi Dave,

What exactly is the difficulty you are facing?

BTW, aren't you trying to store values in the ViewState?

Ok, this is probably so simple... Anyway, I'd like to pass a value in the hidden variable. I have code like this: <form...> <input type="Hidden" name="zzz" value="1"> ... </form> I want to replace the value with another when the page gets generated in

Please help anyone: I have made a DLL (for DBCommunication) in which I have defined some public static variables/fields in a public class. This because I want these variables to be shared in all methods in the total application. Both web- and windowsapplications and other DLL's are using this DLL. When one of the Web-application uses the DLL, my variables are shared across sessions, but I do not want this to happen - I want the variables to...

Assume you have a web application with many different web pages, and you'd like to avoid using cookies and storing session state in any form. Assume further that bandwidth and security are not issues. Could you conceivably store a serialized object containing state information in a hidden form field, and pass it from page to page to page avoiding the use of cookies and session data? Thanks.

Hi All, I have a web app which uses Frames, frame 1 with search criteria(1.aspx) and frame 2 with results(2.aspx). Frame2 in turn posts to a servlet(action="servlet URL") and the report parameters are expected as hidden variables on the form(of 2.aspx). The workflow is simple, the user selects diff values for drop downs and then hits Run(which calls some javascript code), which would populate hidden variables on 2.aspx, and then submit...

....still new to .net 2005 using VB. Do I understand correctly that the value of a session variable is actually stored in the server's ram, but relies on the asp.net session ID cookie that temporarily is placed on the client's machine until the session ends? ...so that you can't use session variables if the client has disabled cookies on their browser? So, this makes session vars much more secure than hidden fields, which are transmitted...

Hi, Is there a way to add the infomation in a url querystring/link to hidden form fields and submit that form when the user clicks on the link? Basically I have some paging links generated from a search page which hold a lot of search data and other variables. I need to send this data using the post method as its too much to be sent via the get method employed using a query string. Any other technique to acheive the above would be...

Currently I'm using hidden input textboxes to store session variables (eg. login_id, first_name, last_name). So when I need to use the values in a fuction I would do login_id.value, etc.. I'm thinking if it's better to just set the login_id, etc.. as global variables. I may have a lot of variables and the session may be long. I'm worried that I might lose global variables due to memory leaks and other issues. In my mind if I store it...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
