Hi all, and thanks for previous answers (especially Nicholas Paldino)
An assembly is composed of a set of modules. The module class has a method
for reading global methods GetMethods(). My questions are :
1. Are we obliged to go down to modules for reading global methods?
2. What about the GetExportedTypes() method of an assembly class ?
3. Should we ignore global methods as we are C# users (not C++) and that we
are interested in...

I already asked this question in the VB.NET group but as C# seems to have the
same problem, I'll try here, too.
I have 2 external OEM assemblies A1 and A2 that both define class X (same
name, not same class) in the global namespace. I need to use both X'es in my
project. How do I fully qualify the X'es to avoid the name clash between X
from A1 and X from A2.
The using statement provides a way of aliasing clashing names from named...

I have 2 external assemblies A1 and A2 that both define class X in the global
namespace. I need to use both assemblies in my VB project but the names X are
ambiguous. How can I get around this problem?
Is there a way to refer to the assembly, f.ex. A1.X and A2.X (this syntax
does not compile).
Or can I change the name X in the Imports directive? Again the problem is
how do I refer to the 2 different X'es in assemblies A1 and A2:

Hi,
I am providing the users of my application with the ability to create
..Net scripts within the application. I want to enable them to select
the dlls and assemblies they will need to allow their scripts to run as
well. So I want to duplicate what Visual Studio does where it provides
a form with all the globally defined .net assemblies available for the
user to reference in their program.
I found where these global assemblies are...

I have a web project compiled with the new "Web Deployment Projects" plugin
for VS2005.
I'm deploying the web project to one assembly and with updateable option set
to ON.
When I'm running the generated code on a W2K3 server the application_start
and any other event on the global.asax file won't fire. I added tracing and
logging to make sure and I can see the code is just not execution. When
running the same exact (deployed etc.) code on...

Hi
In my solution I have two projects.
First is Library project.
The second project uses this library ( dll ).
I am registering this assembly in global assembly cache ( by .net
configuration tool ).
Key pair is generated for the assembly using VS2005 ( I also use VS to
sign my assembly using this keypair ) Everything works fine.
I am adding reference to created dll, on the second project.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
