Should I use VS 2003 or 2005 for IDE? I have both.

Have questions

I am getting back into developing and need some opinions.

Should I use VS 2003 or 2005 for IDE? I have both.

I understand I can install both on same machine. True or False

I have a current Dot net 1.1 environment. Can I deploy VS 2005 applications
to it if I use the VS 2005 Beta IDE? I have a hosting service that is
providing me a Dot net environment.

Depends on if you're comfortable with using beta software or not, and
which framework version you're targeting.

We have some 1.1 sites developed in dreamweaver and we will be developing all new sites for the 2.0 framework when it's out of beta. We just purchased an ms subscription and will be using visual studio for development now. I like whidbey a lot more than vs.net 2003... can I skip learning 2003 and just use Whidbey to maintain our 1.1 sites? There are no project or solution files to convert since we developed everything in dreamweaver...

Hello, I am starting 2 new projects to deliver in January 2006. I want to create them in Asp.Net 2.0 using Visual Studio 2005. All my clients web sites are Visual Studio 2003 projects in Asp.Net 1.1 / VB.NET. These web sites use Access Databases and NOT Microsoft SQL 2000. In the future I will need to make a few changes now and then to this web sites.

Hello, I am in need of some advice. I want to move to .Net 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005 for ASP.NET developement, however I'm hesitant. Here are a few questions I have regarding the upgrade: 1) Currently I have several customers with .Net web applications I've written. If I upgrade to VS2005 and go to update these applications, will VS2005 assume .Net 2.0 and use whatever new syntax or properties? Or keep it on my current version?

ASP.NET 2.0 master pages are great. However, I want to edit an ASPX page in FrontPage for aesthetic styling reasons. The ASPX page is linked to a master page so it naturally has a contentplaceholder ID. Right-click in VS2005 and open it in MS FrontPage. Source appears file. However, design view (the real reason I'm in FP anyway) will not display unless I remove the ContentPlaceHolder tag. Specifically: <asp:Content ID="Content1"...

Hello all, I have VStudio 2005 currently installed on my workstation. However, I am collaborating on a project with an outside consultant who is using VS 2003. Every so often he sends me new or updated modules to add to the project and I will send him my updates so that we stay in synch. I tried loading the project (solution) into VS 2005 and it warned that changes would be made that would result in incomptibility with VS 2003.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
