We have a huge project, the solutuion spans 50 projects growing. Everytime I
want to start the project I have to wait nearly over 1 minute for the
compiler to complete building. This is unaccaptable.
I thought about loading only the project I need into visual studio and not
the whole solution. The problem is that the compiler tells me it cannot find
the referenced dlls (project references) although they are all lying in
their bin and obj...

The problem started when the Working Folder for a project was somehow set to
the folder of another project. I set the correct working folder in VSS and
deleted the .vbproj files that had been created in the wrong folder on the
hard drive. Before I discovered these files, .NET kept trying to create a
new project with _1 following the project name. Deleting those files
corrected that problem.
I deleted the Virtual Directory, rebooted, and...

Hello there,
I have been programming python for a little while, now. But as I am
beginning to do more complex stuff, I am running into small organization
problems.
It is possible that what I want to obtain is not possible, but I would
like the advice of more experienced python programmers.
I am writing a relatively complex program in python that has now around
40 files.

I got a solution that contains about 30 projects, three of which cannot be
open. When I open the project, I always receive the error message "Unable
to get the project file from the Web Server"
My machine is running Windows 2003. My colleagues are using the same
hardware and software as I do, but I am the only one running into this
problem.
I searched the Internet and see that quite a lot of people having the same
problem in the...

When debugging my current web project, in VS2003, I found I had lost the
ability to drill down on watch objects in the Watch Window; I could only
view the single value specific watch objects.
Here's what I discovered. In addition to my main web project and several
middle tier projects, I also added an "empty" web project in my solution
(Add - New Project - Empty Web Project). This empty web project is what is
causing the above...

Also old asp projects I created doesn ' t run anymore, I get the same error.
The problem doesn't only occur when debugging, it occurs always.
I found...

This is a request for assistance analyzing a problem we are experiencing in
our VB6 development environment. All our code is developed in VB6, and our
persistance layer is SQL Server. We are planning to convert this project to
dot net sometime in the future.
Our architecture is an exe project with references to four business object
dlls. Also, each one of our tables is encapsulated in a data object dll.
The data objects are referenced...

This is regarding Visual Studio 2003 (framework 1.1). We have several
projects/libraries. Of course, many of these reference each other. If we
only had one solution, we would simply add all of the libraries that we wish
to debug to the solution, and make project references to the other projects
within the solution. All other library references would be file references,
since they were not included in the solution.
However, the...

I have a Class (named Student ) in an existing VC++ project. One of its Methods has the following signature and accepts 2 arguments

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
