Hi, In my ASP.NET web application project we need to design crystal reports with Crystal Reports version 8.5 enterpraise edition(Please Note:It is not the Crystal Reports that comes with VisualStudio.NET). Also the Crsyatl Report software 8.5 version will not be installed in the IIS web server which is hosting my ASP.NET web application. It will be installed in a different server which has .net and IIS 5.0.

I have a problem with a C++ DCOM application that prints Crystal Reports with data from Oracle. The SQL query is relatively complex but when the report is printed from the Crystal Reports designer it shows up very fast. When the report is printed from my application it takes about ten times as long to get the report to appear. When printing straight from the Crystal Reports

hi all, I have created some independent reports through crystal reports developer edition v 10 and developed a small tool in .net framework v 1.1 to view these reports through the crystal reports viewer provided by .net. This is a stand-alone windows application and nothing to do with the server. I am using local SQL anywhere database and connection is via an ODBC DSN. Before launching the reports I am passing the login information to...

Hi, I will be taking on a new project developing a web-based "reporting system". The first requirement I got from BI group is "we just want to look at the data". Basically, there is a huge database, and they want certain people to be able to drill down to the data they want, perhaps a few graphs here and there, and then extract selected data to an Excel file or a flat file for further analysis. As of now there are a handful of parameters...

Hi All! I'm very very new to DotNet and doing my first Report project. I'm planning of using VS.NET built-in CrystalReports to create reports. I'm probably really navie and ignorant to ask this but here's goes. I want to know if there are any client compatiblity issues need to be considered when utilizing CystalReports chart controls? Does client need to download any controls in order to view the charts properly? Or CystalReports...

We've got an old VB6 application we wrote years ago, that we're working on converting parts of, to an ASP.NET application. So far, the work is going well. Now I'm looking at trying to convert the Crystal Reports to the new system. To use the terminology that Crystal uses, the old VB6 application used a "pull" methodology, meaning that the stored procedure was specified within the .RPT file, and parameters were all there, and when you...

Crystal reports has given an asp page called rptserver.asp from which we can call the crystal reports in ASP and it is working fine in ASP. After converting this to ASP.NET it is not working. I am getting an error "CRAXDRT Error Occured on Server 13 - Type Mismatch".

I have developed an application with VB.NET, which includes the Crystal Reports (Visual Studio .NET 2003 edition) controls. I can run the application on my PC and it does work fine, but on any other PC it throws an error message once the user tries to view an existing Crystal Report file. How can I use my application to view Crystal Reports from other PCs? Do I have to include the .RPT files in the VB.NET project? What about when .RPT...

Hello all, I have created an ASP.NET website that uses Crystal Reports that works on the localhost (my PC), but when I copy it to the server it does not. The problem is ExcelUseConstantColumnWidth = False. On my PC when exporting a report, it works - columns are varible width to fit the field, from the server it does not - I get constant width columns. I suspect it is a DLL issue, but so far all my comparisons are coming out the same.

When deciding on what Reporting Services to go with.. Security is of importance when deciding. I'm developing a ASP.NET website that will require the use of reports and the instructor had told me "DO NOT" use Crystal Reports as it is not secure. My question, is Crystal Reports really unsecure? And what is the comparisions and differences between Crystal Reports and SQL Reporting Services? Which one is the overall winner? :D You'd think...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
