Visutal Studio compile Java program?

I am working on a project to migrate a JavaBean + JSP application (running
on Oracle application server) to Microsoft ASP.NET + SQL server.

In order to see how the original code works, I need to re-compile the old
code. I am using Oracle JDeveloper to compile the original code, my
question is: Is it possible to use Visual Studio to compile .java files
which was not written specifically for Microsoft platform? Will I be able to
run the class files on Oracle appliation servers?

Thanks.

No, you will not be able to compile the .java classes to run on Oracle
application server using VS.NET. At least not in its default state -
you could probably get the IDE to launch an external java compiler. You
can use the J# Java Conversion utility to convert the .java files to
..NET files. But it sounds like you want to run them as java files.

Why don't you want to continue to use JDeveloper to compile the code to
see how it runs?

Hi all, I'm afraid this is the second posting of this information as I didn't get a response on the previous post. I will try to shorten my message (i.e. be more concise) in the hopes that it will make it easier for someone (i.e. a Microsoft person) to digest the information and respond to it. I am a C++ and Java developer with over 3 years of industry experience. I've written low level C++ code, in addition to web clients that use web...

I'm currently experiencing a strange phenomenon: At my Office, Visual Studio takes a very long time to compile our solution (more than 1 minute for the first project). At home, Visual Studio compiles the same solution much faster (about 10 seconds for the first project). My home computer is only marginally faster than the one I have at the office (P4 2.53 vs. P4 2.4, same amount of RAM). On the slow machine, the CPU usage is very low,...

Hi, Background: I'm a Java programmer new to c# and Visual Studio. Problem: When I compile in Visual Studio 2005, the compiler complains, that it can not find several different namespaces. Examples: Error 1 The type or namespace name 'Soap' does not exist in the namespace 'System.Runtime.Serialization.Formatters' (are you missing an assembly reference?)

I'm attempting to migrate a predominately MFC application that I've just inherited from Visual Studio.NET 2003 to Visual Studio 2005. I've managed to clean up a myriad of compile and link errors but I'm stuck on one final problem. Please note that this application compiled/linked and ran just fine out of Visual Studio.NET 2003. Details: It's originally incarnated as an MFC app, i.e. CWinApp, CMultiDocTemplate,

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
