Hi everyone,
I really need help with the following:
It's common in app development to create numerous projects under one
solution that as a whole combine to become your final application. For
example I have a solution that has four subprojects - 3 class libraries and
1 windows forms app.
Q - Some of these projects - both class library and win form application

Can a class library have a app.config file. Reason for asking is that the
microsoft application blocks all read from myApp.exe.config. How can you use
the application blocks if you do not have an app.config file.
Wish someone from microsoft would answer this, I am at a loss.
thanks

What is the "correct" .NET 2.0 way to do this from within a class
library?
For example, say I have a connection string in app.config or web.config
added using the VS2005 IDE, like so:
<configuration>
<configSections>
</configSections>
<connectionStrings>

We have recently implemented (enterprise library) data application blocks to
VB.NET console applications - very nice. The console apps read an app.config
file, which in turn communicates w/ a dataconfiguration.config file for
database access.
Now we're trying to implement data application blocks in a VB.NET class
library, which is called from a classic ASP web site (not an ASP.NET site).
Is there a way to utilize the app.config file...

Hello,
I have developed a web application that connects to 2 different database
servers. The connection strings with db username + password are stored in
web.config file.
After a code review, one developer suggested that it's a security flaw;
therefore connection strings should be kept somewhere else or encrypted.
My argument is that web.config file is protected by IIS and Windows security
which is the case. And another argument is that...

3. Two windows Console Applications with their own App.Config.
Now I try to retrieve a value in the DAL using this code.

I have been searching the internet for 12+ hours on how to do this. At this point I'm about to give up. I am using VB .Net 2.0 with the enterprise library jan 2006 release. This is my first time using it and I'm a novice to .Net. I am using the data access quickstart solution and I just started adding my own forms and stuff to it. I got my sql query to work and populate a dataview on my new form with just a few lines of code. Here is my problem...

Hello!
I created a Class Library project in VS2005. Then, using VS, I was able to
add a connection string to the project settings, which automaticaly created
an app.config file for me.
If I try to access the configuration using
System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager, I get a NullException.
The code:
string connectionString =

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
