anyone have any secrets or pearls about vb.net you want to share
I was asked by my company to begin teach an introductory VB.Net course
2 day seminar. I had been teaching an sql server 2000 seminar.
The brochure they send out for the class creates a high expectation (those
marketers )
that a trainer has to fill. This brochure is entitled "DISCOVERING the
SECRETS of vb.net"

Using VS2003, I can't add an existing class to a project w/o the IDE
creating a copy of it.
I want multiple projects to be able to share a central copy of a class.
I can't compile the shared class into a library because one of the
executables that uses the class needs to be a self contained executable
that will be downloaded and immediately executed on a PDA.
I can't GAC the shared library so that both applications can use it
because...

Hi all,
I have "Visual Studio Team Suite" subscription and now I started to play
with Visual Studio 2005 for creating Test Projects.
The thing I am interested in is the "unit test". I tried out the steps
from:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnvs05/html/VSTSUnitTesting.asp
and everything seems to be fine. But this sample shows creating tests
for methods/classes that you got by creating a C# project...

I have a class that references/consumes a webservice, and I would like to
split that class into a base class to be used as a based for classes in each
of two class libraries/DLLs.
I have extracted the base class into a cs file and inherit from it in two
class library projects by adding it to those projects using the "Link File"
option when adding an existing itme to each of those projects.
It all seems OK except the base class...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
