How to start SQL Server 2000 service

Hey,

Installed the SQL Server 2000 Eval version on my Windows XP Pro laptop, but
can't start the SQL Service. It says Error 1069
When go to Administrative Tools->Services to start it I get Error 1068.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Thanks,

Error 1069 indicates a password problem with the MSSQLSERVER service. Error
1068 indicates that the SQLSERVERAGENT service that MSSQLSERVER depends on
is not running. Go into services management console and check that
SQLSERVERAGENT is running and starts automatically. Then check the logon tab
of MSSQLSERVER service to see what logon account the MSSQLSERVER service is
using, should be local service account.

I am not able to start the MSSQL Server service on my system ever since I shifted my house and got a new network provider. Earlier, I was on the local cable hub, now my computer is on a DSL network. I don't know if the network would have something to do with it, but I am just providing information for the sake of completeness. When I try starting MSSQL Server from the Services applet in the Administrative Tools in Control Panel, I get a...

We created a Windows Service with C#. The service will start OK on computers that are a member of a domain, but when we try to start it on a server that is configured for a workgroup we get the following error in the event log: Event ID: 7001 Description: The {Service Name}service depends on the Net Logon service which failed to start because of the following error: The service has returned a service-specific error code.

A few service stop/start/restart questions on SQL Server 2005 SP2, which I'll call SQLS. It looks as if there are *potentially* 6 ways to start/stop SQLS Services like the engine itself, integration services, reporting service, Agent.. -SQLS Configuration Manager -SQLS Surface Area Configuration (for Services and Connections) -Mgmt Studio Local (on server)

We have a few systems, one running XP Pro SP3, another running Server 2000 SP4, and another running Server 2003 SP2, each has at least one service that will periodically fail to start upon a reboot. The standard error message of "The service failed to start due to a logon failure" is received. If I try to start the service manually, I continue to receive the error message. The simple fix has been to reenter the password for the logon (domain...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
