Hello,
I'm trying to fill a dataset with the data of a diffgram xml-file.
I expect a dataset with datasetname "ComputerSystem" filled with 1
table (tables.count = 1). The only thing i've got is an empty dataset
(datasetname = "NewDataSet", tables.count=0). You find a code snippet
in attach. Any ideas?
Thanks,

I have a server in a workgroup (called "wg"). Does anyone know how to find
the name of the workgroup from code (pref c#)? I've trawled the newsgroups
and the MSDN site for the right class / method / property to use but I just
can't find the right one. There are plenty (such as UserDomainName) that
give me the server name, but none that I can find to give me the actual
workgroup name.
TIA
Mark

Hi,
I'm writing an app that needs to get the domain the machine running it
belongs to. I know that you can do a Environment.UserDomainName, but
this returns the domain the user has logged onto.
What I have is a machine that sits on a resource domain called ***Res,
and a trusted domain the user logs onto the machine called Global.
The user always logs onto Global, but the machine could be on BobRes,
BillRes or BrianRes.

Hi,
All the examples of getting WMI information shows using a foreach loop to
loop though multiple entries, like to more than one IP address, etc. If I
just want to get the value for single value attributes, like "Manufacturer"
in SELECT * FROM Win32_ComputerSystem, how would I get that value? This is
the Searcher string that I'm using. Thanks!

Hi,
I am trying to create a post logon script which does various tasks,
like setup a printer based on location. While most of it works very
fast, I have a second Python script that I run that scans the PC using
WMI (among other things) and writes the following to a database: Name,
Username, Machine, IP, Login Date,CPU,Memory.
The problem I have is that since I import WMI, it takes a long time
and we have users complaining about it. So...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
