Hallo
Is there anybody able to tell me if and how to restore a lost socket
communication?
I try to explain.
Computer A and computer B are net connected and they estabilished a socket
connection. A (which acts as a server) is waiting for data from B and,
while waiting, it sends a "ping" character to B, in order to verify is the
connection is active.
Desconnecting the net cable, the "ping" character sending generates an
exception, as you...

Are there some kind of "virtual sockets", so that my app. can use the same
port for different users on the same Terminal Server?

Hi,
In the past I created a VB6 application that was capable of accepting
multiple client connections for status logging over the internet using
simple non-Windows clients (GSM/GPRS). There is one management
console/monitor that receives messages and keeps track of keep-alive
polling. The monitor created a new WinSock connection for each client that
logged on. These were put into an array of controls. I'm sure this can also
be done with...

First of all I wish you a good day.
My help request is about .NET asynchrounus socket communication. I have
developed Server-Client Windows Forms .NET applications in VC++ .NET v2003. I
have several problems re-establishin connection between peers. Below are my
problem cases after closing of the first successfull communication;
#1) I re-start the Server to accept connection requests. While it is
waiting, I run the Client. It is...

Howdy,
I would like to use the Synthesis Toolkit for a demo. I downloaded
the STK from http://ccrma.stanford.edu/software/stk/index.html. It
seems very powerful and user friendly. There are bindings for socket
connections and TCL gui examples. I would like to get one of the demo
samples work with Python/wxPython. I am including the TCL code for
the drums demo (this was the shortest one).
Has anybody converted this to wxPython? ...

I have a client and server that enjoy the following simple dialogue:
Client connects
Client sends request
Server sends response
Client disconnects
This is the way it must be. The response must be wrapped in a start
and end byte 0x02 and 0x03 resepctively.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
