According to the information on the Microsoft web site, code written in
VB.NET 2002 can simply be recompiled using VS.NET 2003. However, I have
found that code which compiles cleanly in VS.Net 2002 gets new compile
errors in VS 2003.
It appears that there are new scope rules in VB.NET 2003. I get "Name not
declared" errors on public functions in public modules. The errors are
fixed by wrapping the module in a name space and then...

Hi All,
I am using an API function, which takes file path as an input.
When file path contains special characters (@,#,$,%,&,^, etc), API function
gives an error as "Unable to open input file".
Same file path containing special characters works fine in one machine, but
doesn't work in other.
I am using following API function to get short file path.
Declare Auto Function GetShortPathName Lib "kernel32" (ByVal lpszLongPath As

Although I have quite a bit of WinForms experience, I am new to ASP.NET. So
don't be surprised by the elementary question. :)
I am creating a webpage with a dropdown list that allows the user to select
an image from the list. Based on that feedback, the page calls a web service
to grab the requested image (based on an index from the dropdown) and place
it on the local file system. Then it is supposed to update the Image
control on...

Hi,
I get path strings from a DB like:
\\serverName\C:\FolderName1\FolderName2\example.exe
I am writing a script that can give me access to that exe file.
But problem is that string is not universal path, I need to add C$.
Any idea how I can add $ char in that string.
ServerName is not fixed length. It could be any chars length.
