Hi,
Looking to see if the following construct is valid:
typedef struct {
int foo;
char bar;
} foobar;
Basically, the idea is to have the structure above point to a message
buffer that has a 4-byte integer followed by a stream of variable

i've used the sample code from msdn to create an encyption/decryption
assembly as found here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnnetsec/html/SecNetHT10.asp
i'm able to encrypt and then decrypt data okay as in the following code:
// encrypt the data //
Encryptor enc = new Encryptor(EncryptionAlgorithm.TripleDes);
byte key = Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("0123456789012345");

I have a file that looks like this:
25.000000 55.000000
23.000000 51.000000
5 8
8700 6000
<and then, at byte 128, starts binary stuff>
What's the proper way to make sure that I'm reading in valid data?
Should I check after each cin that the input stream isn't eof?

Hello,
In my application I have to read sometimes quite big chunk of binary data.
I have a buffer which default size is 32000 bytes.
But how could I read binary data that exceeds 32000 bytes?
Is allocating more size to buffer and copy data that exceeds 32000 bytes at
tail the only way
or are there any other possibilities?

I have a couple of customers who are using a program that deserializes an
XML file, and on some files, the program fails to see the content of the
file -- treats it as zero length and reports "root element is missing" --
even though in Notepad the file looks normal.
Has anybody ever seen this? Any clues? I have not been able to reproduce
it on my computer. In general, when they e-mail me the files, the files
arrive perfectly normal. ...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
