ASP to .Net migration project

Hi,

Do you consider CSHARP as THE language to be used for an ASP to .Net
migration project.

ASP .Net seems a "natural" choice but as .Net is "language neutral"
and CSHARP is positioned as THE native language
we are requesting some help/advice.

Many Thanks.

IMO yes.

My rationale is based on the need to master client-side JavaScript for web development. Both C# and JavaScript are nearly exact syntactically and grammatically. Thus, learning one language can be said to be learning two for the price of one. Actually, we get to learn three languages for the price of one as the same rationale applies to Java too.

Thus adopting C# is simply good common sense that IMO outweighs all of the otherwise generally sound arguements about the .NET Framework being language neutral.

Finally, observing the emergence of new technology via research.micros oft.com also indicates the growing use of C# in state-of-the-art development.

Those are my opinions and insights that motivated me to switch from VB to C#.

Greetings, I am a team lead on a medium sized C++ project. We have roughly 400k c++ lines of code, and our project is ongoing - it was first released in 1997 and will continue to be used for the foreseeable future... That being said, my question is how best to migrate our COM code to a .NET environment. We have defined several COM interfaces (which are used heavily) and have need of defining several more for our next release. But we...

Dear All, I have a very small test project to convert asp to asp.net using the Microsoft/Artisan ASP to ASP.NET Migration Assistant (http://msdn.microsoft.com/asp.net/using/migrating/aspmig/aspmigasst/default ..aspx). Everything works fine when my include file is in the same directory as the asp file that includes the include file. What I am having trouble with is that the migration tool doesn't see my include file when it resids in a...

We have a fairly big size ASP.NET web application that was written VB.NET. We are in the process converting the web project. We used the migration wizard included in VS 2005. I followed step by step guide outlined in here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/asp.net/reference/migration/upgrade/default.aspx?pull=/library/en-us/dnaspp/html/webprojectsvs05.asp. I was able to convert the project without any problem. Compiling and building them is...

Some Sr. colleges and I have had an on going discussion relative to when and if C# will ever support 'true' multiple inheritance. Few programmers (3 to7%) UNDERSTAND 'Strategic Functional Migration

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
