Q: How do I retrieve a page from a web site?
A: Pass a URL to file() or file_get_contents(). The former returns the
contents as an array of lines. The latter returns the same as string.
Example:
$html = file_get_contents("http://www.cnn.com");

Some sites seem to be session driven in the sense that if I visit the
homepage and do a few clicks I can navigate anywhere I want, but if I
paste the current location into a new browser window after having
navigated to some page, it doesn't work. It just returns to the start
page or says "timeout" etc.
This means that I can't read these pages from PHP with
$string = file_get_contents('http://some.url/blah/deep/link');

I've got an STL class (see below) with two functions to store and
retrieve data - msg structs.
The "Store" function when called will copy the received message
(depending on which message) into the appropriate array. For instance
if I receive a RCVD_MSG1, I'll copy into msg1 . Upon receipt of
the next RCVD_MSG1. I'll copy into msg1 .
The Retrieve function when called should retrieve the latest copy.
ie. msg1 or msg1 .

Greetings,
I'm using ASP to retrieve from MSSQL and I then populate a table.
After several months of successfull retrieves, this same code now
bombs out. It turns out that if I clear out from SQL about 10,000
records, the retrieve is then successfull.
Reading some of the posts, I believe I need to set the cache. If
anyone can point out where that cache, it would be greatly
appreciated...

I have 10 columns total. 3 of them are invisible. The rest are read-
only BoundFields, 3 of which are editable fields using
TemplateFields. Upon editing, I want to validate what the user enters
against one of those invisible columns. How do I accomplish this?

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
