I am making a service project in C#, and I'm in the process of writing the installer. I made an installer class by using the "Add Installer" menu-item in the design window of the service, then I configured the properties of the installers
When I run InstallUtil on the executable, it fails with the following message

When trying to run the InstallUtil.exe, I get the error below. Any

'installutil' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Is "intstallutil.exe" (the program to install/uninstall a C# service)
included with the .NET Runtime? Will an end user who does not have
Visual Studio .NET installed still be able to execute "installutil.exe"
from the command line if only the .NET Runtime is installed? Are there
any other methods of installing a Windows Service written in C#?

I installed the exception management block on my computer and it defaulted

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Application Blocks for .NET\Exception
Management\Code\VB\
Now I want to make a copy of that project in a different location where I
can experiment with customizing it while leaving the original project safe
and intact. So I copied everything to its new location OK, but now I need
to run:

I am experiencing a wierd problem...
I have a C#.Net application Server which uses Sockets.
It listens on port 11000. and it runs as a Windows Service.
If I run it as a consple Application, I can connect to that
port/Application from any machine on the network as well as from my
local machine.

Hi,
New to windows services, but I've managed to create one and install it
successfully.
However, I'm confused about what the InstallUtil actually does. I'm not
sure if it just registers and configures the service files (exe, dll,
config, etc...) as a service or if it copies to a special location like
the GAC and runs it all from there, or if the original location of the
files is the actual location even after the InstallUtil is done.

My VB 6 program uses Windows Service I developed with VB 2005.
Setup for VB 6 project, created in InstallShield 12, installs Framework 2 if
it is not presented on the client machine.
I ran setup on Vista Business and I did not see that Framework was
installed. I decided that Framework 3 is there and it's not necessary to
install Framework 2.
After setup I have to install my Windows Service manually. In order to do

New to C# and VS 5 and .NET. I have attempted to write a service via
various examples and after several failed attempts to write an
installer via the VS 5 wizards,etc I tried to install the service
manually using Installutil.exe utility.
Unfortunately I am getting an error very early on, during the
