Can you add a tooltip to a datagrid column

Is it possible to add a tooltip in the column of a Datagrid. Can someone
please show me how I would do this for the datagrid column below. Thanks for
any help anyone can give me.

Here is the datagrid coloum which I want to put the tooltip
when the user hovers over it.

<asp:BoundColum n DataField="ID" SortExpression= "ID" HeaderText="ID" >
<HeaderStyle ForeColor="Whit e" CssClass="dgHea der">
</HeaderStyle>
<ItemStyle Font-Size="10pt" Height="11px" CssClass="A">
</ItemStyle>
</asp:BoundColumn >

this works for me

in my column, i have a headline[headline] but due to screen size
restrictions, want to show a more detailed description [body] as a tooltip

both pieces of data are returned in the dataset

NB when customising the data grid i always find i have to turn off the
'autogenerate columns' thing on the grid
<asp:TemplateCo lumn SortExpression= "headline" HeaderText="Hea dline">
<ItemStyle HorizontalAlign ="Left"></ItemStyle>
<ItemTemplate >
<a href='Single.as px?action=VIEW& type=EXISTING&i ssueID=<%#
DataBinder.Eval (Container.Data Item, "issue_id") %>'>
View</a>&nbsp; <a href='Single.as px?action=EDIT& type=EXISTING&i ssueID=<%#
DataBinder.Eval (Container.Data Item, "issue_id") %>'>
Edit</a>&nbsp;
<asp:Label ID="LblHeadline " Runat="server" Text='<%#
DataBinder.Eval (Container.Data Item, "headline") %>' ToolTip='<%#
DataBinder.Eval (Container.Data Item, "body") %>'>
</asp:Label>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateCol umn>

I'm trying to work with a datagrid column in order to display a tooltip in a datagrid cell. The reason I am doing this is because I have some long strings being returned and I don't want the rows of the datagrid expaning down to much. I basically want to display the first 50 characters in the grid cell and then display the rest as a tooltip in the grid cell. I'm not sure if this is possible but if anyone can help me do this I would be very...

Hello, I am looking a coding example that allows you to add toolTips to a column in a datagrid. It works just fine ins the supplied code, but when I attempt to apply it to my program, it fails with a out of bounds exception. The example is applying toolTip to a HyperLinkColumn, which is the first column in the datagrid, and I am attempting to apply it to a "BoundColumn". Here is the code... Dim liType As ListItemType = e.Item.ItemType...

I have a datagrid on a web page that has several columns in it. Is there a way to provide a tooltip for each of the columns (i.e. to say how they were calculated or what a specific literal in the column means)? Thanks SC

I have a simple DataSet with a single table being bound to a DataGrid. One of the columns is displaying a linkbutton or button so that the user can "drill through" to another related report. I would LOVE to be able to put a tooltip on each linkbutton/button based on the contents of the of another column in my DataSet. (Essentially a more detailed explanation of the link). Any suggestions on how to implement this? Thanks in advance.

I need to have a Tooltip on each Cell in a datagrid, I don't know how to do this. I'm using Styles to the datagrid (Which I asume most people do since you never need to show all the fields from the source). The Cell I want a tooltip on is styled with a textboxcolumn and the TextBox Object in that TextBox Column doesn't seem to have a property called Tooltip.. so i'm sorta stranded here... Best regards/ Lars

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
