I'm new to HTML and want to learn the basics by learning to code by hand
(with the assistance of an HTML editor to eliminate repetitive tasks).
Can anyone recommend a good, basic HTML editor that's a step beyond
Notepad (not a WYSIWYG tool). Thanks.

Are we going backwards ? (please excuse my spelling...)
In my opinion an absolute YES !
Take a look at what we are doing ! we create TAGS, things like <H1> etc.
and although there are tools (dreamweaver and the like), they are all at the
lowest level of programming (something like assembly as oposed to C++ etc.).
These tools create "brain-dead" developers that constantly have to plough
through tons of tags to do the simplest thing.

I'm sure this must be something incredibly simple but I just can't see
what the problem is.
I have some webspace which is accessed along the following lines
http://site.address.com/subdir/
but instead of my browser (either Firefox or IE) picking up the
index.html file and displaying it I just get a list of all the files in
that subdirectory which of course includes the file index.html. Any

I am new to Access 2000. My operating system is Windows 2000.
In the early stage of development I noticed something weird. On my form, I have
a Command Button named "btnAlbumUp". The first time that I reference this
button in VBA code, the Visual Basic Editor capitalizes the P changing

Looking at the html produced by Visual Studio I see a mixed bag of tag
capitalization. For example there's <HEAD> and <body>. Then there's
<form and <TABLE>. Is there some logic behind the mixed casing?
Is there a right way and a wrong way? I believe that the W3C recommends
lower casing.
Thanks for your help.

Tools / Options / Text Editor / HTML/XML / Format / Capitalization
Usually I use
Tags: Uppercase; Attributes: Uppercase
but now I edit XML pages and I set them both to "As entered". However, the
editor behaves as if I had set it to "Lowercase". Is this a bug or what? How
can I simply enter xml tags without being either uppercased or lowercased?

Hi there,
I'm starting to learn php and need a php editor for windows. Can you
recommend what you think the best editor available in the market? I've tried
some free html editors and was not satisfied with them. I need one that is
simple and neat, but can display different color on different part of the
script if you know what I mean. Your opinion is always welcome and thanks in
advance. :)

1. Supports image
2. Supports hyperlinks (auto detects) and allows use to create "custom"
hyperlinks.
3. Can have their menus and toolbars merged with our application or is fully
programmically controlled.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
