A couple Q's , so I've come to the experts<g>.
1) I need a definitive answer to the following debate. I've got a couple
developers who disagree on the following question. We've got an XML file of
numerical data results where it could contain values such as:
<RESULT>0.12345</RESULT> when created in English, but it could contain:
<RESULT>0,12345</RESULT> when created in another language... such as German

Hi,
I am working with an 'in session' ado dataset with an asp.net application.
My dataset is comprised of two tables, one of which maintains a few
calculated datacolumns. For some reason these datacolumns do not trigger
their expression when other columns from which the expressions are derived
are updated. Below is a basic example of what I am doing.

I have a problem with VB.Net and IsNumeric() function because it always
returns FALSE even the string can be a number.
There is another strange thing, the same program (it is a test) runs good on
one and doesn't run an another one.
The program test is very simple, just a form with a text box and a button.
The text box has a validation rule that check if the insert string is a

Hi all,
All of a sudden I have problems importing and exporting textfiles with A97.
Code was working allright for years and years, but not today...
Since I have this app in two versions I tested the behaviour in A2k also.
To my surprise the *same* code with the *same* files works with A2k and *not* with A97
FYI: App is split FE-BE and the BE is in Access97 format, so the same BE is used with these versions.

Hello,
I try to convert a volume stored as a string value in an XML file into a
Decimal object. The volume is stored with comma as decimal separator
("210,12") according to french habits. To be independent from the culture of
the current user, I use
decimal.Parse(volume, new System.Globalization.CultureInfo("fr-FR", true));
but this function fails with :
Exception : Input string was not in a correct format.

I tried to retrieve the digit grouping symbol in MSAccess but
unfortunately 3;0 is retrieved instead of comma which is my symbol.
Function retrieves decimal symbol and list separator without any

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
