help with design

Hi,
I need to create a few classes that I can reuse in my applications and also
distribute to other programmers on the team. After creating the classes I
want to put them in a package and distribute them .When the distributed
package is run it will install my .dll in the GAC so that all we have to do
is to reference imports mydll. How do I create this. I tried creating a class
library, assign a namespace for all the classes, then compile, then giving it
a strong name, after creating the keys I edited the assemblyinfo.vb file and
added
<Assembly: AssemblyKeyFile ("..\\..\\compa ny.keys")>

Error creating assembly manifest: Error reading key file
'..\\..\\compan y.keys' -- The system cannot find the file specified.

This file is in the root dir of my app.

Also if I edit one of the classes in the future, do I need to remove it from
the GAC and then reapply it? How do I deploy the updated dll to the other
users?

Thanks
I get the error when I compile

I need some help getting started with a .NET web project for a commercial site. I am new to .NET and my understanding of some (but not all) of its concepts is a little sparse. I apologize for the length of this message, but hopefully it will help someone here give me the most concise and useful information, and perhaps help others out as well. :) It's been a while since I've had to design anything "real" for the web. I think the last...

Hi, Sorry for posting twice, but I hope in your comprehension. Please help me! I'm troubling from months with a serious serialization problem that I'm not able to solve. I try to describe as simply as I can. 1) I have a class tha does something with colors. All default values are obviously NOT serializad. Instead, they are serialized when they are

I got a bit of a problem I like some help on. I'm designing an online training module for people that work in food processing plants. This is my target audience. These workers have little or no computer knowledge at all! And they also have outdated, old browsers, slow modems, old computers, etc. So I need to keep this as simple as possible and as browser compatible as possible. The client wants a navigation bar at the bottom of each...

I have asked this question before. But it does not work for me. Given radion buttons in the web form design page. What I did is described as follows. A panel control is dragged into the design form, and a table control is dragged into the panel from tooolbox. Add cells for the table through the properties. Now I cut a radio button, and click the table (note I can not select a cell), then right click Paste. The button is not in expected...

Hello All, I'd like your comments on the code below. The sub does exactly what I want it to do but I don't feel that it is solid as all. It seems like I'm using some VB6 code, .Net2003 code, and .Net2005 code. I'm developing in vb.net 2005. This test sub just reads an input text file, writing out records to another text file, eliminating records that have a '99' in them (it is similar to a CSV file). Some of my concerns are:

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
