Hiya
I have a problem with using some client side and server side scripting
together in an ASP. I'm using VBScript.
What I'm trying to achieve is this -
- Page loads up and some server side vbscript reads the database and
populates a listbox on the page with the first field from each record
in the recordset. This works fine.
- User selects an option on the listbox and, using the OnChange, I

I have an application that runs on a web server that sends data to
clients over a TCP socket. The data comes from a class that has been
serialized. The class exists in a library (a DLL). The customer
receives this serialized data with a client application I wrote. They
also have the same DLL, so that when the data received is
deserialized, it will be deserialized into the same type of class that
was used on the server.
I have a problem...

1. What is the best way to make a single instance of my top level class
(DLL) internally available to all other members of the assembly? The top
level object is where all other access is made in to the program. Where and
how do I declare and initialise this object?
For instance, it would have property implementation like this:
//*******************************************
public MyClass1 Class1

Hi There,
I have a small ASP.NET application under development. I am using VS.NET 2002
(2003 upgrade is on the way) with .NET Framework 1.1. It is hosted on a web
hosting service in the US. I am experiencing the "Viewstate corrupted" error
message on a particular page, when that page is left for a period of time
and I return to it again, and submit it again. The page in question has a
drop-down list of various RSS news feeds I am...

Hi All,
I know this is a dumb question, but I'll ask it anyway...
How do you do client-side scripting with an ASP control?
For example I have:
<asp:hyperlink id="Hyperlink1" runat="server" NavigateUrl="~/"
onclick="return false;">Home</asp:hyperlink>

I hope I posted this to the correct group. If not, please let me know and I
will get it posted in the correct section.
I have a web application developed in ASP.NET using C# for the code behind.
I need to be able to print shipping labels from a web page within this
application. The shipping label data is pulled from a 3rd party application
and comes in binary format specific for certain brands of label printers. I
have a class library...

I frequently find myself wanting to insert some basic client-side JavaScript
functions in the page of an ASPX of mine. But I find it so frustrating that I
have to actually contruct my JavaScript in C# on the server-side and render
it to the client because I can't use the IDs of my controls as they are
written in the HTML page itself. Rather, I have to use Control.ClientID to
get that ID that I can use in the client-side JS.
So my...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
