I'm restarting this thread with a different focus.
The project I'm working on now id coming along and will be made to work, and
it's too late to start over with a new strategy. Still, I'm not coming to a
firm conclusion over whether it was the better approach, and wonder if I
should do it differently the next time I'm faced with a similar...

From Access 2.0 you could click File, Import
and import tables, queries, forms, reports,
macros & modules from other databases.
I don't see that facility in Access 97. Was it
dropped?

I've been developing an Access database for our small office for several
years now so I am not a newbie. However, I have a need for which I am not
finding a mechanism to accomplish in the material that I have read.
We use an antique BBX/BASIC accounting program which we use to generate
invoices. Every morning we save the previous day's...

Something's going on locally with my Access 2000.
Whenever I import an object from another .MDB, it damages the receiving DB to
the point where I have to rebuild from the last backup. Repair/Compact doesn't
work.
Whole objects disappear, and when a compile is attempted the message "Error
accessing file. Network connection may have been...

I have made a number of changes to the code of an access 2000
application, and now the person responsible for the application wants
to import one change at a time into his "master copy", after he has
understood the change.
Most of the code in this application is in the forms. I find that I can
export the code, and I can import the code of...

Ok, I'm new to dotnet. Not only do I need help I need to know which of
the dotnet groups would be best for this question. I have over 30
applications in Access with nearly 300 forms that have to be converted
to dotnet. Naturally redesign will be included but it would save a lot
of time if I could import to dotnet the forms used in the old...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...

I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
