In the Assembly Load Trace, the error: Publisher policy file is not
found comes up.
Is this a problem with locating the assembly?
Is a publisher policy file required or even necessary as long as the
assembly can be found and loaded?
Thanks!
Tim

We have a web site on our server and the site has got COM+ components written by us.
Problem: We are trying to launch multiple websites for the same code with different URLs, but the problem is we have some com+ components and they are common to all sites and If we make any change to the COM+ for one web site it will break others, Is there any way we can launch multiple COM+ or we can define our dlls to read a perticular version of the DLL.

Hello,
We are having a problem with a component in our system that uses
publisher policy files. Whenever it gets modified and moved out to
where our build processes reference components for other builds,
developers get this error:
"The dependency 'COMPONENT, Version=VERSION, Culture=neutral,
PublicKeyToken=PUBLIC KEY TOKEN' in project 'OTHER COMPONENT' cannot
be copied to the run directory because it would conflict with
dependency...

I have component A that references component B and component B uses
versioning and publisher policy files. Component A also references
component C and component C also references component B. A was
compiled against version 1.0.0.1 for component B and C was referenced
against version 1.0.0.0 for component B.
Now when A calls functionality within component C that in turn calls
component B I get an error ("component B or one of it's...

Hello,
I'd like to define a publisher policy which covers many versions of
assembly from which the "major.minor version" are different but it's not
possible to make a such publisher policy.
So it's necessary to create a publisher policy for each new "major.minor
version", which can take a long time to make manually.
Do there exist tools to generate publisher policy for many "major.minor
versions" from a simple and compact configuration...

Hi,
I'm having problems using publisher policy in .NET 2.0.
whereas I didn't in .NET 1.1
Scenario :
I have a version3.0 component against which a client is compiled.
Then creating version3.1 component and the policy-file.
(The policy-file states a binding-redirect from 3.0 to 3.1.)

We have a .NET dll that we are deploying to our customers using a deployment
project in VS .NET 2003. There is a lot of information about creating
publisher policies on the web, but we have not been successful in creating
one. Here's what the ultimate goal is:
When the DLL is deployed to a customer's system, every application using
this dll must point to the new version. This has to be an automated process
using the deployment project....

Publisher policies sound just like what I need but I just can't get these
things to work. There are several good kb articles that seem to show exactly
what needs to be done....
Here is my publisher file:

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
