Hello,
I am trying to write a generic tool that accesses a SQL server and
reads/updates/deletes/creates records. I want to reference this tool from
my asp.net pages to talk to my db. by the way, i want the results of any
read, update and create to be returned in xml.
when reading data, i populate a dataset with data and then use the
dataset.getxml method to return xml. is this a neat way of reading data?
how does it compare to the...

The documentation is unclear (at least to me) on the permissibility of
accessing DB2 (8.1.5) concurrently on and from Windows 2000 / XP / 2003,
with separate transactions scope, from separate threads of a multithreaded
program using embedded SQL. Since the threads do not need to share
transaction scopes, the sqleAttachToCtx family of APIs do not seem to be
necessary.

I know datasets have been beaten to death in here, I have what is hopefully
a simple question about the integrity of a dataset when used in an
application.
Scenario:
User A and User B are updating data in a SQL database via an application
that utilizes a dataset, dataadapter and datagrid.
User A retrieves data from data source and sits on the data for some time
User B retrieves SAME data from source, changes data via teh datagrid and

I am really trying to grasp the concept of OOP as it applies to C#.
I am looking at trying to set up a simple Employee Class but I am having
trouble conceptualizing what this class should look like. I was hoping
someone might be able to simply outline what I envision my class to look
like:
Basically I am envisioning a Class called Employee:
I imagine it would have many properties(?) such as:

I'm using the Framework 1.1, so I don't have access to the new
DataGridView object.
What I'm wondering is, is there a really simple way to bind a plain
datagrid to a database in such a way that changes made to cells in the
datagrid call an update on the corresoonding data within a database?
I've looked in vain for a really simple way to do this with minimal
coding, but I'm coming to the conclusion that I will have to trap the
events of...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
