Setting focus to a textbox in a tabcontrol

Hi,

Maybe this question has been asked before, but I've searched the net
without finding any answer.

I create a new solution, put a TabControl on Form1, create a TabPage and
a put a TextBox in this TabPage.

I run the project and the TextBox does not have focus. :o(

I try this...

Private Sub Form1_Activated (ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As
System.EventArg s) Handles MyBase.Activate d
Me.TextBox1.Foc us()
End Sub

This does not give the TextBox focus either.

I check the tab order and this is correct.

How do I set focus to a TextBox in a TabControl???

Thanks!!!

Make sure the control is visible and enabled. If the control has the
lowest 'TabIndex' on the form, then it will be focussed automatically.

The code we are using to activate the MDI is something like the following: frmTest frm = new frmTest(); frm.MdiParent = this; frm.Show();

Hi, I'm showing a usercontrol containing a textbox on the screen by clicking a notifyIcon in the taskpane. I use textBox.Focus() to set the focus for the texbox, and I also get a blinking text cursor in the textbox. However. I have to click on the usercontrol before it gets the input so that I can type text in the textbox. I would really much like to be able to wirte in the textbox immediately after clicking the notify icon. I've...

There seems to be way too much confusion over how to set focus on the a field using a field validator. I looked all over the web and found people trying to do this, but not getting anywhere. There are a couple of people selling components... but that is not really an option for me... So, I took the plunge and modified the "WebUIValidation.js" file to make it happen... After tracing through file, I figure it out. It was actually pretty...

Hi, There is a tab control on a page with multiple tabs and handful of controls in each tab. The way it's rendered in html (like grid etc..) is in table format in tablerows and cells. On clientside, on form validation in javascript, I would like to set focus on to one of the tabs and set the focus to the control on that tab.

I have a number of controls on a tab page. I want to validate them all when the user tries to leave the tab. I then want to highlight the first control which fails validation. How can I do this? I try setting focus but something seems to set the focus back to the control which had it before validation. Any ideas? TIA, KK

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
