I was wondering if anyone has any experience in setting up something
like the following.
We have PDF forms that we would like users to complete in an
application (windows or web based). We would then like to save the
completed application as a PDF in SQL (as blob) then we need to
extract the data the user entered in the PDF form and do work on it
and save the data itself to a SQL database.
Any help in design would really be...

Hi there,
I have an Access database, which contains the details of company staff
and services. The plan is to extract data from this database onto our
forthcoming Intranet (no inserting, updating or deleting at this
point). The Intranet itself has been created in ASP.NET, using
Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2005.
My concern is that we will encounter a slow response when pulling data
from this Access database across the network...

I thought I had it figured out but I'm still getting errors :( I would
appreciate any help I could get.
I have two forms: Form1 and frmVerify. Once the info gets submitted on
Form1 its text fields are transfered to some label fields to frmVerify.
Sounds easy but I keep getting "System.Windows.Forms.Groupbox' does not
contain a definition for 'verifyForm'
Here is that part of the code:
private void btnSubmit_Click(object sender,...

Hello Everyone,
So, thanks to nico's help I was finally able to 'finish' our companies access database. For the past week or so though,I have been designing forms that contain a subform and an option group so that whenever a certain button on the option group is pressed the correct subform source object property is changed to display the correct form. For instance, if they click "add new investment" the subform's source object is now changed to...

Hello all,
I've been using this site quite a bit since starting my project and have found it very helpful. I have run into a roadblock though that I cant seem to scrounge up a solution to.
I have this dataset created (REACHpointsdataset) with a few tables in it (points, users, items, etc.), I also add another table to this database though code which I pull from a webservice. Two of the tables are of interest to me right now are empl (from...

Hello,
I have a database form that has a tabs control, and on each tab is another form. Each form pulls data from a different query.
For example, tab 1 may list personal information (form1), tab 2 shows billing information (form2).
I have a rather simple problem, but I can't seem to figure out how to pull data from the form on tab 2 and display it on tab 1. So if the form2 on tab 2 has a field called "balanceDue", I'd like to assign a...

I may be brain-fried, but I could use some help again.
One of my glorious forms in my multi-form report thingiemajigger is a tabular form. For example, it shows customer items purchased and the price.
"Item1" "1.99"
"Item2" "2.99"
I'd like to pull that data into a single string from another form. But my variable assignment just keeps pulling the first item over and over.

Hello –
I am still new to Access and I am currently working on debugging some code. I have a form with the following:
Employee Name (combo with select all choice)
Task (combo with select all choice)
Begin date (txt)
End Date (txt)
Both of the combo boxes are pulling from separate union queries

I am using Visual Studio 2008 w/ VB.NET.
For the database, I am using SQL Server 2005, which is running on a
dedicated server box.
I am creating a WinForms application for a client. It is run on any of
several employees' desktop PCs.
Now, they want to be able to "push" some of the data from the SQL
Server database up to a database on a website (also SQL Server 2005).

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
