I tried to use the memory mapped file in my smart-client application hoping
that I could store a persistent cache. But it seems that the file mapping
object is backed by the operating-system paging file, so everytime I close
the application, the caches also disappear. Can someone help me on how to
store a persistent cache, like a file mapping object is being backed by any
named file? Do you have codes creating a cache in a named file...

What is the better table design for a data collection application.
1. Vertical model (pk, attributeName, AttributeValue)
2. Custom columns (pk, custom1, custom2, custom3...custom50)
Since the data elements collected may change year over year, which
model better takes of this column dynamicness

Hi,
In an attempt to get every request for a particular virtual directory to go
through ASP.NET I've been trying to add a wildcard application mapping. The
scenario is that any url for that VD, whether it resolves to an actual file
or not, can be intercepted by an HttpModule and ultimately redirected (using
RewritePath) to a resource of my choosing.
I was hoping that just adding the wildcard mapping to the IIS VD would work.
But it...

Hi, I'm running Windows XP professinal and have an

extension mapping. When I try to change the .xyz
extension in the Add/Edit Application Extension Mapping

Hi,
I have a custom HttpHandler to handle requests for custom pages and
I want to programmatically add an Application Mapping into IIS for this
handler.
Do you know of any sample code showing the API calls that can be used
for adding an application mapping? What security rights will be
required to add the mapping into IIS? Will it be necessry to be logged
on as an Administrator for the machine?
Thanks in advance for any help

in .net 1.1 we successfully use a HttpModule to catch 404 / 403.1 html

after migrating to .net 2.0, this modules is broken in a very, very strange

we have defined a wildcard applicatio mapping to the .net 2.0 isapi dll:

with "check if file exists" disabled.
the HttpModule "RedirectMissing" is called upon every request to the

I'm working on adding a new .NET 2.0 web page to a web site that is currently

after changing the properties of the folder, thus creating a web application,

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
