Hello all. I need to set up a batch file to work w/ the Visual Studio.NET
2003 command prompt. However, when I run the batch file it uses the
standard command prompt. Is there a way to differentiate batch files
between the two prompts? Also, where might I find information on the
differences between the 2 prompts?
Thanks,
Herb 2 2728
Add the following as the first line in your batch file.
@Call "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
2003\Common\Too ls\VCVars.bat"
(watch for line wrap)
The VS command prompt still uses cmd.exe, it just sets some ENV variables
from the above batch file.

Jim,
Thanks for the tip. That seemed to work. I just had to adjust the path to
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
2003\Common7\To ols\vsvars32.ba t"

I need to install the Office XP PIA files on a server, and the
Microsoft instructions says it needs the .Net Command Prompt to run
them. I do not have Visual Studio installed on the server, nor do I
want to. Is there a way around this or a way to just install the
Command Prompt tool on the server?

I have .net 2002 edu version and when it installed there was a shortcut to
the .net command prompt. My CLR disk is scratched so I can't reinstall and
so I just downloaded express.
I dont know how to access the command prompt so I can compile basic files
from this book I'm reading. I found this really cool resource here that
would save me a lot of typing by being able to sense which directory I'm in...

Okay, here's the bonehead question of the day:
Is there some syntax or command line switch that I can use to call a
Public Sub from a command line? If so, what is the syntax?
The purpose: if I can start the Sub from a command line prompt, then I
can make the command a batch file. If I can make the command a batch
file, I can schedule it.
If the sub were, say, basMyProcedureModule.MySubName, could I invoke it

Hi, I am having trouble figureing out the best way to open a command
prompt then write lines to it in VB.NET. Currently I have this code,
but it execute's too fast I think because
Dim psi As Object = New ProcessStartInfo
psi.FileName = "cmd.exe"
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(psi)
SendKeys.Send("abcdefg" & "{enter}")
SendKeys.Send("12345678" & "{enter}")

Currently (manually), I 1) open a Windows SDK Command Prompt and 2) navigate
to a particular folder. Then I 3) type a command and press enter. The
command is irrelevant (WCF-related) but here it is FYI:
svcutil http://localhost/COWFeedyardService/Services/Pen.svc /out:Pen.vb
/config:App.config /language:VB
All works fine, but I need to do this over a hundred times changing "Pen" to
the names of the other classes and re-executing.

Hey folks!
First off, I don't know which section of the forum this needed to be so I put it in Windows since the majority of it is MS-DOS. Sorry if it's in the wrong section.
Now, I have a question, I'm trying to ping -a <IP_ADDRESS> a whole list of IP Addresses in command prompt then see if they are timing out or not and if they are timing out, return that results to a spreadsheet. Guys, I'm lost. I've been hearing I need to write a...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
