Hi All,
I am facing problem in copying content of table from a untyped dataset into
to a table inside the typed dataset. I wanted to copy the data into typed
dataset in order to ease the further processing using typed references.
DataSet ds = getDataFromDB(); - i am getting the dataset ds from a
webservice
I have got MyXSD which decsribes the shcema for the table which i am getting
from the webservice

Hi,
confusing subject, I know... sorry
I have a typed dataset from a webreference that I would like to be able to
use just like a normal "local" dataset in VS. It would be handy to be able
to use it in wizards and in GUI properties for databinding etc. I have thus
far only managed to find one "working" solution:
this.dsOVS = new guinamespace.com.hostname.dsOverViewSend();

I've got a webservice returning a typed dataset -- I've got a client app with one library that downloads and writes the dataset to the harddisk and another library that later opens the dataset. Openning the dataset works fine and all data is there and intact but when trying to cast from Object to TypedDataSetClassName, I get an InvalidCast exception. I verified the namespaces and everything that I can think of matches with the typed dataset in...

I have a windows CE application, talking to a C# WebService. In the
WebService project I have created a dataset (dsJobList), and there is a web
method in there which returns a fully loaded dsJobList dataset to the client,
which in this case is a windows CE device.
In the code for my application on the WinCE device, I have added a Web
Reference to this WebService. Once I have added it I can see the .disco, the
..wsdl and a dsJobList.xsd...

Well,
Damned if I know.
It used to be simple. Make a webservice that publishes a get method, an
update method and a typed dataset.
The webpage would get the dataset and show it in a grid, the customer would
update the grid and the dataset changes would be posted back.
Where did all this simplicity go??
I have read all of the various posts on various forums and it seems to use
the GridView with a typed Dataset you have to be a rocket...

Hi,
I'm delevloping a webservice that returns typed datasets with visual
studio 2005. The problem is, that the typed data set in the client app
is not the same as in the webservice. If I change the property
'NullValue' of the row to (empty) the dataset on the client does still
throw an exception. I added a column to see if the project updates the
reference.cs - and it does!
This is the generated code from the original dataset:

I'm trying to decide if it is better to use typed datasets or business
objects, so I would appreciate any thoughts from someone with more
experience.
When I use a business object to populate a gridview, for example, I loop
through a datareader, populating an array list with instances of a custom
class in the middle tier, and then send the array list up to the
presentation layer and bind the gridview to it.
If I use a typed dataset, I...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
