Setting HttpWebRequest connection header to "Keep-Avive"

When using .net framework HttpWebRequest object, how can we set the connection header to "keep-alive"
Acording to Microsoft ducomentation, setting the keepAlive property to true, should do the job, but it doesn't seem to do so
When trying to change the header manually (using httpWebRequestO bject.Connectio n = "Keep-Alive") we get the following error
Argument Exception: "Keep-Alive and Close may not be set with this property.

We try the example appears at the HttpWebRequest. Connection Property page in MSND and got the same exception for line myHttpWebReques t2.Connection=" Close"

Hello everyone, I am using VS.NET 2003(Trandition Chinese) Edition, and httpLook software for checking http requests. I found a problem that the following programs don't really "POST". These programs can be successfully compiled. There is no error message shown at running also. But the httpLook confirms that the program doesn't post. -- Here is the HTTP request acquired by the software: ---

Hi there. My goal is to write a windows service that can act as HTTP Request server. How can I do that? I know that I can use ASP.NET to develop a web site to achieve this purpose, i.e. receive HTTP request. However, I'd like it to exist in the form of a "Windows Service".

I have an application that is making an HTTP request with HttpWebRequest.GetRequest. Unless I set 'httpWebRequest useUnsafeHeaderParsing="true"' in the web.config, I get a 'The server committed a protocol violation. Section=ResponseStatusLine' error. Here is an example of the session that generates the error: --- snip --- GET <someURLHTTP/1.0

Hi, I'm using PHP 4.4.4 on Apache 2 on Fedora Core 5. PHP was installed using Apache's apxs and the php library was installed to /usr/local/php. However, when I set my "error_reporting" setting to be "E_ALL", notices are still not getting reported. The perms on my file are 664, with owner root and group root. The php.ini file is located at /usr/local/lib/php/php.ini. Any ideas why the setting does not seem to be having an effect? ...

The standard says "The 304 response MUST NOT contain a message-body, and thus is always terminated by the first empty line after the header fields" http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html So in my PHP script I do the time calculations and then I simply do: header('HTTP/1.1 304 Not Modified') ; exit ;

I'm developing asp.net 2 web application and need to make a custom http handler which sometime must send response with "204 No Content" code. I set HttpResponse.Status="204 No Content"; But asp automatically adds headers such as "Content-Length: 0". This causes an error on the client. HttpResponse.ClearHeaders() doesn't help. How to make asp not to add headers (especially Content- Length)? Thanks in advance.

Days ago, I post a question on how to make SoapHttpClientProtocol instance make new TCP connection for each web service request. Now, I found how. SoapHttpClientProtocol has a protected method GetWebRequest(System.Uri uri) which returns a WebRequest instance. Though MSDN doesn't make clear statement. I experiment and prove that SoapHttpClientProtocol use this method to create HttpWebRequest for HTTP request. So, I override this...

I have written a Web Service that works with my test harness written using VS2005. However, a client to the service consistently receives a "Bad Request (Invalid Header Name)" response for each request. He is using another development environment that requires that he create the actual request via multiple calls to a library to construct the request. I have sniffed the traffic from my harness program and the requests look like the...

I don't get the message so it's hard to debug that, but some of my clients report that they get "The underlying connection was closed unexpectedly" exception. According to this site (http:// www.dotnetspider.com/resources/2596-e-underlying-connection-was-closed-A-connection.aspx), it's a bug of .NET 2.0, and the author suggests that we use KeepAlive=false until Microsoft fixes it. It seems like almost 5 years have passes since the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
