Hello,
I've written an asp.net application that creates Excel documents. It
works by creating an excel document in XML format.
But I wonder if I'm reinventing the wheel. I know that there are ways to
read and write Excel files with ADO, but as far as I can tell, it
doesn't provide the flexibility I need. I need to be able to generate
tabs, cell formatting, formulas, etc.

Hi y'all,
only recently, I've delved into creating installers with VS.NET. So far, I'd
created a Deployment Solution, added a couple of Merge Modules to it &
everything worked fine.
Today, I read some stuff on MSDN that talked about Windows Installer Patch
files, but nowhere did I find any info regarding creating WIP files with
VS.NET.

Whenever you upload files via HTTP Post, the file is stored in the
memory of the aspnet_wp.exe process, and never deallocates completely
(if you are lucky a few MB gets released). One of the config settings
for .NET processes, allows them to utilize 60% of physical memory on
the server, at which point the process is recycled and all execution
is stopped. Whenever a new upload is started, though, some memory is
de-allocated, but not enough...

Hello all,
Thanks in advance for any replies...
Now, my question is: Is it possible to do a multiple files download for a
single response event on an aspx page? If there is, please give me some
directions/sample code or anything.
On my web application, I have a CheckBoxList that shows all the files. The
user will check (select) the files to download, then click on the "Download"
button. A SaveAs dialog pops up to allow the user to...

Hi,
I'm creating a CMS that I would like to be plug-in based with different
plugins handling different kinds of content.
What I really want is to be able to load/unload plugins on the fly
without restarting the application.
What I did was to create an AppDomain that loaded the plugins and
everything was great, until I tried to pass something else that strings
between the domains...

I cannot seem to find the answer to this rather simple question. Pardon
me if it looks illogial or silly.
Can I create a frame in the same page without referring to other html
files? I.e., I have a large dynamically created table in my JSP page. I
would like to place it inside the scrollable frame. If I put the whole
table into a separate file, I can easily do it by referring to that
HTML file from the 'src' attribute. But what if I want...

I have a number of different files which I would like to combine into
one file, which can later be separated into the individual files
again. In essence, a zip archive, only without the compression. I do
not wish to use any 3rd party components.
Are there any built-in methods for achieving this? (The VB6 property
bag did something similar?).
Thank in advance.

I am creating a distro of Python to be licensed as GPL.... am
wondering, what would anyone suggest as to 3rd party modules being put
into it (non-commercial of course!)? I know I'd put MySQLdb into it at
the very least. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
