can i fine tune VS.Net compile/ use parallel process when compile?

Dear All,

our team is writing a large appz and now we takes minutes to compile the
source code.

May i ask if there are any method to speed up the compile process?
(any settings to tell vs.net to re-compile only for the modified area?)

(is there any parallel process function which allows the host computer to
get cpu rescources from other guest computers)

Thx in advance

Hi friends, I need to write a parallel code in 'C' on the server that is running SGI Irix 6.5. This server supports MIPS Pro C compiler. I don't have any idea of parallel C languages. I looked into few posts in this group. I could make out that there are several languages for parallel programming and parallel C is one of them. I need to know if this is supported by MIPS Pro C Compiler. Or are there any other parallel C languages that have...

Is there any practical limit on the number of parallel connections that a PostgreSQL server can service? We're in the process of setting up a system that will require up to 10000 connections open in parallel. The query load is not the problem, but we're wondering about the number of connections. Does anyone have experience with these kinds of numbers? ---------------------------(end of broadcast)--------------------------- TIP 1:...

I'm doing some analysis that is readily broken up into many independent pieces, on a multicore machine. I thought it would be best to just queue like 1000 of these pieces in the ThreadPool, and let that object take care of running them in the background on the machine's free cycles. But I need the program to wait for all the queued pieces to finish before it continues. I tried giving each work item a ManualResetEvent and using...

Has anybody tried to run parallel python applications? It appears that if your application is computation-bound using 'thread' or 'threading' modules will not get you any speedup. That is because python interpreter uses GIL(Global Interpreter Lock) for internal bookkeeping. The later allows only one python byte-code instruction to be executed at a time even if you have a multiprocessor computer. To overcome this limitation, I've created...

Hello, I'm trying to use the command "#pragma omp parallel for" within a thread but each thread that is created (and stopped again) produces a memory leak of about 44kB. If the entry for "Stack Reserver Size" in Properties->ConfigurationsProperties->Linker->System is increased, the memory leak grows up to 10MB and more dependent on the stack reserve size.

Hello, I build a console application which will run few actions in parallel. I wanted to know what is the best way to implement it : by regular threads, some thread interfaces or background workers? And where can I find good example for that? Thank you!

I have a program that needs to run on a regular basis that looks at a queue table in my database. If there are items in the queue database I need to grab the data from the database and pass it to a web service to process. The web service will return either a completion code or error msg (the only errors expected would be timeout or cannot connection errors). This queue file can contain 0 to N messages. Naturally if there are no messages...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
