Anybody here created an agent? I need to create an agent that runs as a Windows service. The agent would listen on a certain TCP port and run executable files sent to it from a master program. I have these questions: - Is C# a decent language to write this in? - If there are any major issues, what are they? - Do you know where I can find example source code for such a project? It can be in almost any language.

My asp.net application depends on obtaining allot of data from a remote application. This application is a bit of a monster and it is not an option to install it on the asp.net system. Note - the remote application is developed in vb6 Currently I have the application installed on a number of remote computers and use DCOM from asp.net to communicate with this application. All the calls to this remote application are generally kept to a...

I'm stumped. I'm working on an application in VB.Net that uses System.Messaging.MessageQueue to listen for messages sent to a private queue on a remote machine. Both machines are in the same Workgroup in a small private LAN. The messaging is working fine, but since the remote machine is used as a control system and has to be rebooted when there is a configuration change, I have to handle the remote queue going down and coming back up...

I am developing a web service that uses SSL client certificates for authentication. It works fine with self-generated certificates, but our customer's CA wants specific information about what exactly is needed in the certificate for it to work. I've found that including the extended key usage OID for client authentication allows IIS and .NET to properly treat the certificate as a client certificate, but are there other possibilities? For...

Hi, I am using HTTPWebRequest to add a client certificate. I am then using HTTPWebRequest to POST xml to a web service which requires the attached client certificate to authenticate with their server certificate. However, I keep getting an error "Unable to connect to remote server". I know I am able to connect to their server and retrieve an XML response as we were able to do this using our old solution (WinHTTP in Visual Basic 6). ...

We have a requirement where we need to enforce digital certificates on client machines. In abstract, the requirement is to have digital certificates installed in a limited set of machines in the client local network which certain users will need to use in order to gain login to the system. These users will hold different roles in the system. The idea is that we need to stop these users from login in to the system from any other machine except...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
