Can I create a single file SETUP.EXE from deployment project

Hi,

Using VS.NET 2003, I would like to deploy my project as a single-file exe.

What I actually get is three files:

Setup.exe
Setup.ini
MyProg.msi

To deploy these as a single file I've zipped them into a self-extracting
zip, but the user still has to find and run setup.exe - very clunky.
Can a single file solution be achieved directly from VS.NET?

Regards,

Vince

The MSI file really *is* a single file solution - but only if your
users already have MS Installer 2.0 installed. The exe and ini files
are really just provided to make it easier for people without MSI2 to
get it installed.

Actually in my VB.Net solution I have two projects (1) MYPROGRAM (2) MYPROGRAM_INSTALLER. MYPROGRAM is a "Windows Application". MYPROGRAM_INSTALLER is a "SetUp Wizard"...

I have made Setup and Deployment Project for my application. This application uses couble of Crysral Report .rpt -files, so I included following into Setup and Deployment Project ... - Crystal_Database_Access2003.msm - Crystal_Database_Access2003_enu.msm - Crystal_Managed2003.msm - Crystal_regwiz2003.msm ....and suddenly my <MyApplication>.msi - file was quite big, about 10MB!

The solution consists of the following: A single asp.net assembly to be deployed to web server A number of vb.net assemblies to be deployed to application server. Some of these assemblies will be shared by future applications. There is also a SQL Server DB that I need to install onto live server. The only way I have deployed asp.net app before is to copy my...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
