I have a transaction log file where the DataSet table's Description column
is actually delimited into "subcolumns" based upon the transaction id. I
would like to parse these into separate fields for reporting purposes and am
wondering if anyone knows if this is easily accomplished using the .NET
version of Crystal Reports?
For example, the description column may be reporting on a dataentry error as
follows:

We have a set of .NET objects handling the business layer of our
application. Is it possible to bind the objects directly to a Crystal
report so we can see the properties at design time in the report

WE had a Crystal 8 WebApp using vs 2002 which we upgraded to VS2003. I also
have Crystal 9 pro on my development machine. The web app runs fine on my
dev machine but am having problems deploying. I created the websetup and
built the MSI, have the bundled version. Copied to webserver and ran
Websetup.msi. Said I had to remove old version, which I did, then reran

I am using Visual Studio .NET 2003 and have successfully deployed a
commercial web application written in C# and ASP.NET. I am now wanting
to add reporting using Crystal Reports and am having a devil of a time
doing this.
The problem is that my application uses an encapsulated data tier for
accessing the database vs. accessing it directly via the client tier.

Hi all,
We have a N-Tier framework and we now create a Web Site App to wotk with
this architecture.
I add reference from my libraries in the project and creating page and
controls is very easy, using my objects. But, it's seem that I cannot create
report using Crystal Report with my objects. I created classes in the
app_Code folder and yes, I can use them but, it's not the way I eant to do
it. I want to use my classes from my dlls.

Hello,
We want to use Crystal Reports to print a page with customer info.
However, we cannot connect a new report to our object! We have looked at the
samples and done the same but to no avail.
We cant even recreate the data connection in a new report in the sample web
application!
Is this a known issue with Crystal embedded in VS?

On reflection, you could possibly make the app a self extracting zip file
which extracts the EXE and a settings file and then starts the app, then when
you app closes, it can repack the settings file and itself into the exe. You
would probably want a tool for this bit which could be in the zip too.
So the app isnt single exe when running but when not running, it is.
Just an idea for you to think about.
