I have the situation where I need to construct the name
of a static method, and then retrieve the corresponding
function from a class object.
I thought I could just use __getattribute__ for this purpose.
This works fine if I already have an instantiation of the class,
but not when I try this on the class object directly.
A bare bones example:

I have a C++ template class which contains a static variable whose
construction registers the class with a map. Something like this:
template <typename T>
class M {
static Registrar<M> registrar;
};
The constructor of Registrar does the registering when it is initialized.

Hi, I'm trying to learn proxy classes in C++ so I've written the
following code, trying to modify an example given in Deitel & Deitel's
C++ book.
I am trying to "hide" details of the original class (employee.h)
through a proxy class (employeeproxy.h).
What am I doing wrong? Please help... I will be grateful forever.

Is the following code valid and supported by current implementations?
function somename() {
this.show = function () { document.write("somename called") }
}
var somename = new somename();
somename.show()
Note that the class name "somename" is reused for the variable name.

I know this has been asked before, but I just can't find the answer in
the sea of hits...
How do you forward declare a class that is *not* paramaterized, but is
based on a template class?
Here's what I thought should work, but apparently doesn't:
class Foo;
void f1(Foo* p)

Here's a question that most will have different answers to. I'm just
dying to find a solution that seems halfway automated!! There really
are two seperate issues which might be answered by the same answer.
Web App:
- constants.php begin -
define("DB_HOST", "locahost");
.... to include the standard connection info
define("DB_NAME", "mydatabase");

Dear all, once again I stumbled upon the following puzzling problem.
When having the following two files (see below), the gnu compiler
compiles the file without a problem while the compiler complains about
the fact that the function foo (which is declared as a template) is not
a template! The problem itself vanishes when changing the name of the
function foo in the class bar into some other function name, lets say goo.
The problem...

Hi. I wondered if anyone knew the rationale behind the naming of the
Popen class in the subprocess module. Popen sounds like the a suitable
name for a function that created a subprocess, but the object itself is
a subprocess, not a "popen". It seems that it would be more accurate to
just name the class Subprocess, can anyone explain why this is not the
case?
Thank you.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
