When I create an install package, all I see is a folder Icon in the
Add/Remove programs. I have set the AddRemoveProgramsIcon property in
my install package, but that doesn't do anything. I have created
packages before that worked correctly, but not anymore. I have even
tried installing this to different machines, but there was no change.
Is there a different property that has to be set for this icon to be
displayed?
Thanks in...

Hi,
I'm trying to check the existance of a file in Windows 2000 by opneing
am fstream and seeing if it is open.
However, it seems that the executable doesn't care about case.
ie, if I am checking on myfile.txt and MyFile.txt is in there, it will
return true. However, other programs do care about the case (myfile
and MyFile are different), which is why I need to do what I am doing.

Greetings,
I am working on a program that is in beta testing and goes through a new
version every week or so.
When there's a new version, go into the setup project change the Product
Code but leave the Upgrade Code and version number unchanged.
RemovePreviousVersions is set to True.

Hi
Can someone tell me how you set the Icon that is visible in the Windows
"Add/Remove Programs" Utility.
I am trying to deploy a VB Dot Net Application and have its Icon display
there rather than just a yellow folder.
Thanks,
Doug

Hi everyone.
I have a very strange problem and I have no idea how to correct it.
I created a VB.NET DLL that is used by several different apps for
password file encryption/decryption. I have the original .NET DLL and
I also built the DLL with a COM wrapper (the COM interop box checked in
the project...) so it can be used with VB6 apps (or any other language
for that matter). In order for a VB6 app to use this DLL, this control
must...

When I install my application built using VS2008 C#, the application size is
reported incorrectly. The application is actually 40 Meg in size. When you
click on "Add Remove Programs" from the Control Panel my application appears
in the list of installed programs but the size incorrectly is reported as
2.9 Gig. Where does Windows get the information on the application size and
how do I get it to return the correct size?
Thanks

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
