Setting the default system printer in VB.Net

Len
While I have no problems selecting different printers to
print from my VB.Net app I can't find a way to set the
user's system default printer. Unfortunately that's the
only way I can get the legacy app that I call to print
properly.

If anybody has suggestions or code sniplets, please
respond.

Thanks,
Len

I looked for help on MS site and they say it is a known issue. The work around is to use WordBasic commands like as follows. ...

It needs to change the system printer, not just the printer for this application. I assume I must tap into winspool.dll some how. tia

Hi: I'm trying to write a program that will print envelopes using a HP Laserjet 4 that has three trays. In the future this program will work with other printers so I don't want to "hard code" (or send raw output) to accomplish this. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
