Copying an EventHandler from one resource to another one

I need to copy an EventHandler assigned to one resource,
to another (runtime generated) resource.

Here is the code I used :
public void test(object xi_sender)
{
System.Windows. Forms.Menu parent = (xi_sender as
System.Windows. Forms.MenuItem) .Parent;
System.Windows. Forms.Label button;
for (int index = 1; index < parent.MenuItem s.Count;
index++)
{
button = new System.Windows. Forms.Label();
button.Click += parent.MenuItem s[index].Click;
}
}
But it will not compile. The error message is as follows :

.... (10): The event 'System.Windows .Forms.MenuItem .Click'
can only appear on the left hand side of += or -=
How can I acomplish this task ?

Thank you,
Yoav

Hello, I am trying to find a way to create a scheduled task or service that will copy my local profile folders under "Documents and settings" to a network drive. This would allow me to restore my settings if my profile became tampered with or corrupt. Is there any sample code available out there? -Robert

Say i have an object that represents or holds a resource like an open file, a block of memory on the heap, or an openGL texture object. The constructor acquires the resource, and the destructor releases it. I want to implement efficient copying and assignment for this object - the copy constructor passes on the 'handle' (file pointer, memory pointer, or opengl texture id) to the new object, and invalidates the old object. I guess this is...

Question, When using BeginInvoke (on a From to marshal to the UI thread) with the EventHandler delegate I see some strange behaviour. The problem is that I call the UpdateTextBox method with a class derived from EventArgs ( i.e. MyEventArgs) and when the BeginInvoke is called and the UpdateTextBox methode is call on the UI thread the parameter e (EventArgs) does not contain the derived MyEventArgs object but a EventArgs object. The...

Hi, This might be a sort of FAQ, but I don't see why, so I would someone help me to understand what's wrong? I've just created following code which wold trim white space(s) in a (given) string. But, it resulted the Segmentation fault, and so as when running in gdb (saying "Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentaion fault at *p++ = *st++"). The platform is Linux kernel 2.4.27, gcc version

Can anyone tell me how I could iterate through a collection of controls on a form while assigning their event handlers to another identical collection of controls on the same form. So far, thanks to another programmer, I've got this working out quite nicely for the properties: Type ctrlType = subject.GetType(); ConstructorInfo cInfo = ctrlType.GetConstructor(Type.EmptyTypes); Control retControl = (Control)cInfo.Invoke(null);

Is there any way to add an embedded resource to a project without copying it to the project's directory? I have shared resources and don't want each project using the images, xml files, etc. to need to be updated with the current copy before being built. I also don't want projects being built with the old copy. Thanks! Bill

I think what i'm trying to do is passing by value. Here is the scenario: Main Form - which calls a Search form. - I pass Mainform as a reference so that I can pass data between the two. Code: public frmSearch(Form1 f)

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
