I have encountered a situation where I am unable to remove
a .NET assembly from the GAC. The message I receive
is "Assembly 'assemblyname' could not be uninstalled
because it is required by other applications." Although I
have seen this before when trying to remove .NET
assemblies that have been installed via an MSI package, I
now get this message while trying to remove any assembly
I've added to the GAC. Using gacutil does not work...

I wrote a small assembly to test the process of placing it into the Global
Assembly Cache but now I cannot remove it. When I hi-light and click delete
I get the following:
Assembly 'Assembly Name' could not be uninstalled because it is required by
other applications.
I have signed on as the local administrator, I booted into safe mode and I
keep getting this message. Can you only put assemblies into the GAC? I
would assume if you...

Hi,
out of the blue, I started getting errors when trying to open a form that I
have built in VS.Net 2003. The error is regarding an Activex control.
After further investigation, it turns out that I am getting the following
error anytime a drop an ActiveX control on a winform: "One or more of the
types in the assembly unable to load", which is the cause of my form not
opening.
This happens with ANY Activex even though the ActiveX is...

Hi All: I tried to uninstall a runtime security package from a user's
machine. Based on document I have read, all I need to do is right click on
MSI file, and choose uninstall from menu. After I chose uninstall, the
package seemed to uninstall itself. But when open .NET configuration 1.1, I
did not see the package got remove.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
This is probably a dumb question but can anyone tell me why I'm getting this
message in the Event log?
Basically, I'm trying to run a simple ASP application from VS2005 and I keep
getting 'Server Unavailable'. The Event log is as follows:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: ASP.NET 2.0.50727.0

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
