Domain user info in ASP.NET

Dear all,
Is it possible to get Domain User information from a Nt
domain (no AD and no LDAP) in ASP.NET?
I have a asp.net page in C# conencting to a database. I
want to create a query based on the group membership of a
the NT Username of the logon_user.
If it is not possible in C# I can convert the app to VB.

I hope someone can help I need this ASAP.

Thanks in advance
Erik

Hi All, What do you do when your external DNS lists varying DNS names for the same server. I know you can specify a domain for the cookie but how can you request the cookie or a specific domain? IE: Let say in then DNS www.x.mydomain.com and www.y.mydomain.com point to the same server. Mostly we want the users using www.x.mydomain.com but somehow a user gets

I have an application where the client wants AD integration. The application requires that the user accounts reside in the app's database. The application is a (.NET) webservices based app where the desktop client polls a webservice to return info to the user. The client wants to only manage accounts via the AD. So if they create a new AD user then the app should automatically create a user in the app database. This is not such a problem...

I am trying to pull the user logon info in an asp.net application to use as a security stamp when someone completes a function. So far, I am able to retrieve the computer name. This is, however, not what I'm looking for. For example, if Sally logs on to the domain as 'sallyJ', then I'd like to be able to pull the logon 'sallyJ' when she clicks a button.

I'm tired of reading the fine print! Too many registrars out there. So I'm asking this group for a little help. I'm looking for a Registrar who will do an honest day's work for a fair price. I'm tired of Registrars who build in "gotchas" into their service offering that nab you for something more than you bargain for - including the right to screw you later in their fine print. I want a registrar who won't charge you to leave them....

I am trying to get all the user info in my home network domain using WMI but the below code returns nothing. I know the domain name I pass is correct, i.e., "mshome". I cut and pasted this code from an example I found on the internet. Public Shared Function GetUsersInfoCollection(ByVal domain As String) As ManagementObjectCollection Dim query As ManagementObjectSearcher Dim queryCollection As ManagementObjectCollection Dim msc As...

While I agree with the sentiment, the oringinal title on this thread ("OT: Specially for , why you should always use example.com for obfuscating domains") is wrong. There are other reserved domain names besides example.com. The search for reserved domain names should start with RFC 2606 ( http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2606.html ) which defines; *.test *.example

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
