Hi list!
I've just finished reading the nice book: "Data Modeling and
Relational Database Design Volume 1 - Student Guide", by Jan
Speelpenning, Patrice Daux and Jeff Gallus, published by Oracle
University. I really like the way they do their drawings for their
conceptual models (see below for the features of Oracle's book's
conceptual models). In fact, it's a notation that could apply to any
RDBMS and that'S what I'd like to do. But I...

Hi,
I am looking for an open source (free) data modeling tool for PostgreSQL.
It should - if possible - support:
- E-R-Modelling
- relational data model / modeling
- (GUI SQL interface to the database)
- platform independence (Win32, Mac, Unix/Linux)

Does anybody would recommend a tool in which I can model my classes
and then generates C# code ?
In Delphi I used to do this with
ModelMaker(http://www.modelmakertools.com/), which generated me really
nice pascal sources.
I am looking a similar tool to work with C#.
Thanks in advance,

Looking for a good, cheap (preferrably free) UML modeling tool. Used Jumli
in the past, has everything i want but it isnt terribly stable and doesnt
look as if they will have a new version anytime soon.

I'm learning DeKlarit, a RAD modeling tool that creates business and data
logic to speed development. It seems pretty cool, but I'm just so used to
writing these layers myself. I can understand that it will speed
development, but I'm not sold on that it will speed it tremendously.
Any comments?
Thanks,
Ron

When developing more complex scripts or script components, I usually
begin with pencil and paper and roughly diagram the schema before
coding. I'd like to be a little more formal about it, but I haven't
found a standard model or tool that I feel would really assist me.
I'd like to know if anyone here has a model they find really useful
and/or a free open source tool they recommend. I guess what I'm
looking for is something that is...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
