Add row to data bound form

I have a data bound form to which I wish to add a new row
of data using c#. (SQL Server database accessed with
Stored Procedures using SQLClient)

If I try to add a new row for a user, I can add a new row
using code like this.

DataRow newRow =
this.dsetContra ct.dcl_fsubCont ractDelivery.Ne wRow();
newRow["ContractID "] = this.ContractID ;
newRow["MonthNo"] = System.DBNull.V alue;
this.dsetContra ct.dcl_fsubCont ractDelivery.Ro ws.Add
(newRow);
this.dsetContra ct.dcl_fsubCont ractDelivery.Ro ws[
this.dsetContra ct.dcl_fsubCont ractDelivery.Ro ws.Count -
1].EndEdit();
this.BindingCon text
[this.dsetContra ct.dcl_fsubCont ractDelivery].Position
=
this.frmCaller. dsetContract.dc l_fsubContractD elivery.Count
- 1;
The new row is added to the datatable which I have checked
by running a count on the datatable and can access values
using code, but I cannot get the Position of the
BindingContext to go to the new row. I have tried with and
without the EndEdit() command.

This is confusing me so any help would be appreciated.

We're using SQL Server 7 with an Access 2000 MDB as a front end with ODBC linked tables. I recently created a new set of tables for the app, and users are complaining that unsaved data is being lost when they move to a new record. This seems to be the case when there are multiple users. When there is a single user using it, we don't seem to have that problem. It seems that we had this problem when we first converted from an MDB back end...

Struggling a bit here & would be grateful for any help. I have a table which has a list of people in it. Each person has a unique ID automatically allocated by Access but also belongs to one of 5 Groups - call them A to E. I'd like to generate a further automatic reference number based on something like Group/Unique ID so when I create a new record Access creates the Unique ID & I then enter in the group and then Access combines the two...

I have an off-the-shelf app that uses an Access database as its backend. One of the tables contains a field with an "OLE Object" datatype. I'm writing some reports against this database, and I believe this field contains data I need. When I view the table in datasheet view, all I can see in this field is the string "Long binary data". So, I've got the problem of needing to extract data from this field, but I don't know what format...

I have a table which is bound to an Internet Explorer XML data island. I'm using ASP.NET's client-side validators for an input field in the table. The problem is that if the input fields are in a table that is bound to the island (such that the rows are dynamically generated by IE from the XML data island), the validators do not work. If the table is not bound, the validators do work, but then I don't have the table iterating through...

Hi, I've noticed a bug in VB.NET (latest .NET Framework)... - I have a TabControl on a form with several tabs. - Each tab contains text boxes that are bound to fields in a data source (DataBindings). - When I display a record and then try to access the .Text property of one of the text boxes on any tab except the current tab, the result is an Empty string.

Greetings! I am struggling to understand data binding in VB.Net, and it's slow going. I have a list box bound to a dataset that is filled from a SQL Server table. In addition to the list box, I have two buttons on the form. When I click one, a data adapter's Fill() method gets data into the table, and the column the list box is bound to obligingly appears in the list box. The other button merely displays a message box when it

Hi Team this may be a newbie question. I have searched the discussions before posting: I'd like to re-use a form instance to edit record details. My data binding (a DataTable bound to TextBoxes) works fine the first time round. I can see, edit and update the details from my form, then close the form. I then like to select and refill the datatable with a different record (new

Using Vs 2005 and Vb.NET I want to give users a message asking if they're sure they want to close the form if they had made changes to the underlying data. How do I detect if changes had been made by user but not yet saved? Thanks, Bob

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
