Hey guys I have a user tracking setup to track users. What it does is once a
user hits my site it sends me an email telling me some info and once a user
clicks the logout button it sends a second email that tells me what pages
the visited, how long they were on each page, etc. The second email is in
the Session_End Sub and the first is in the Session_Start. Now my question
is Why is it that the Session_End is never fired. I was forced to...

I realized that when SqlServer mode is used for session management
Session_End event is not fired in global.asax.
What can I do if I want to do something when a user's session end?
Thanks

- I'm using .NET Framework 1.1.
I just noticed that whenever I change the value of Session.Timeout (no
matter which aspx page this happens on), at the end of the request,
the 'Session_End' function gets called in my global.asax code. --More
specifically, it only happens when the page is setting the value of
the timeout to a value different than what it currently is.-- Yet,
the session remains alive, and any variables stored in the...

Just wondering if Session_End *always fires* for every Session. I know that
IIS times out sessions after a default 20 min (unless changed) and there's
no way to know when a user actually closed a browser (unless I provide a
"log out" button that kills the session explicitly, and we can't guarantee
the user will click on that). What I am wondering if there are there
well-known/documented circumstances under which Session_End will NOT fire...

For some odd reason, session start fires but session_end does not.
I am running the web server inproc, the web.config is configured as:
<sessionState
mode="InProc"
stateConnectionString="tcpip=127.0.0.1:42424"
sqlConnectionString="data
source=127.0.0.1;Trusted_Connection=yes"
cookieless="true"
timeout="1"

When SQL Server 2003 is *not* configured in IIS5 isolation mode, is it true
that the Session_End event can not be depended on? If so, what is a good way
to clean up unmanaged resources that were created in abandoned user sessions?

I have a question on session_end. I'm trying to log into my database when
the session times out, it will store user info into a table. When I got step
into a line where I was trying to open connection (I had it set to timeout in
1 minute, and ran it in debug mode), nothing happens. I read somewhere before
about how database call can't work with these settings in my web.config file.
I'm using <authentication mode="Windows" /> and <identity...

Friends,
In our Global.asax file we implement Session_End() which grabs our own
object and then calls our own logout() method to tidy things up. Code is
below. (We wrap this in try/catch, but presently ignore exceptions, perhaps
we'll start logging something to help us figure this out.)
RSWeb.RSWebApp webAppInfo = RSWebApp.GetRSWebApp(Session);
webAppInfo.Logout();

Hi. I am trying to maintain a list of people who are currently "online" in
SQL. I do this by adding a simple entry to a simple PeopleOnline table
whenever someone logs in to my site.
If they manually log OUT of the site, I have no problem deleting them from
the PeopleOnline table. But if they just close the browser, I was assuming
I'd have to use the Session_End() event in Global.asax even though I know
that this will only occur once the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
