I currently have Visual Studio .net using Framework
version 1.0. How do update VS to use Framework 1.1?
Simply installing the 1.1 SDK doesn't work.

You cannot, AFAIK.
If you wish to use .NET Framework v1.1 with Visual Studio .NET, you will
have to install Visual Studio .NET 2003. Visual Studio .NET 2002 uses .NET
Framework v1.0

Beginning to look at the mechanics of deployment at our site for our new project, our first in .NET. Management insists all apps will run from the network, not from desktops and we've managed to figure that out; Application exe files will each reside in their own network folders under N:\NETAPPS, and the strongly named assemblies which are referenced in the GAC are *ALL* located in a single folder, N:\ASSEMBLIES. When there are updates...

I currently have installed .NET Framework 1.1 (_not_ the SDK version, though) on a Win2K PC. I am unable to apply the above-mentioned service pack via Windows Update. In the middle of the update process, Windows Installer informs that the update failed but gives no reason. I downloaded the service pack and tried to install it manually, but I have the same problem. I think that the cause of all this is that I deleted

I'm working on an ASP.Net web app using VS2005 and the .Net 2.0 framework, and I have a serious problem with the page I'm currently working on. The page has, among other things, two FormViews and a GridView control, each with its own SqlDataSource. FormView1 talks to my Opportunity table and has an ItemTemplate and an EditItemTemplate. FormView2 talks to my Activities table and has an ItemTemplate, InsertItemTemplate and an...

It would be udeful to be able to get the current on-screen values from a FormView that is databound to an ObjectDataSource by using a callback instead of a postback. For example: public void RaiseCallbackEvent(string eventArgs) { // update the data object with the values currently on screen FormView1.UpdateItem(true); }

Hi there, I will post my question to this group too bacause the .data group seems to be rather quiet. I've been playing with VB.NET and ADO for a week now and find the different data handling functions very easy and nice. Anyway, I'm afraid that I haven't understood the data binding things correct. I'm using MySQL Connector/.NET to access my database from the

Hi, I am running a WinXP Pro PC with SP 2 and all updates installed. Yesterday I installed the optional .NET framework 2.0 update available from the Microsoft Update service. All seemed to proceed properly with no errors reported. However, this morning Norton SystemWorks 2004 reported 9 registry errors and 10 program integrity errors. NSW fixed the registry errors, probably by deleting the entries but

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
